If there was only enchantment hate in the format, and people were prepared with said hate in their boards.

Guys, I'm drinking and attempting to write a Magic article for this site and I'm afraid I've bitten off more than I can chew. As in, I'm rambling, but I've got a lot of points to get across. I may sober up and realize that this whole thing is crap.

Both of these seem fun. It's a shame I don't plan on investing into Standard at this point.

Black gets a sweeper. That certainly pushes UB control up the ranks. I haven't liked the deck at all but that could change my mind.

I know it is probably zem being zem; but UB was already performing extremely well for me, so this is just a free upgrade.

Dragons seem to be coming earlier than expected?
What is it with the "dragons used to exist, then they went away, and now they're coming back" storyline, anyway?

1. ASOIAF
2. Dragon Age
3. Skyrim
4. Khans of Tarkir
5. Others?
I'm pretty sure there are others. I'm also pretty sure Skyrim is one of the inspirations of this block (around the same time the game came out when this was in development? or maybe I just screwed up the dates). I expected the dragons to come up in the third block, but looks like we're getting it early.

We had an awesome game of Power Grid this afternoon. 4 players on the basic Germany map. 3 players managed to build and power 18 cities on the last turn, so tiebreakers needed. First tiebreaker is most money left. Two players (one was me) had 1 Elektro left, the third player had 0 Elektro. Second tiebreaker is most cities connected, and we both had 18 so the game ended a tie. Most even game of PG I've ever played in. I could have maybe won if I had realized earlier that I could build 18 cities and bid on the last nuclear plant, now I realised it a bit too late and bought a more expensive plant to get up to 18 power.

It isn't that simple. The deck won several games on camera without Ascendency. Holy fuck that deck is insane.

Given that a lot of the time he spent was manipulating dice to track his creature's power, it probably does just fine unless he needs to infinite loop.

I watched him play some rounds yesterday, his deck was very good and well-positioned. He also ran VERY well. He won at least three games from out of nowhere that I saw with perfect rips and one game in particular where his Abzan opponent killed his first three guys, but back to back rips to win via combo anyway. This is definitely a case of lining up of great deck choice, play, luck and weak field for a sick run.

You have to understand this was basically a 10 round FNM with about 30 PTQ grinders in the field. There's a reason I somehow got featured SIX times in a row. I was literally the most well-known player in the tournament. Vidiya also got infinite because some people know him and he stayed in the entire tournament.

Ok, so I am in need of some help. I have been testing for GP NJ and started off pretty well but have had a horrible stretch in the past few days. I have posted recordings of all my matches on my YouTube channel. Am I screwing up or just simply screwed?

Ascendancy online would play out faster and smoother. Most of what took so long is the stacking and triggers and dice. I don't think the time limit would be an issue.

The game where he won from an empty board in one turn was really sweet.

How did names like Death and Taxes or Maverick come about? Did some nerd just write some words on the DeckName line and it stuck?

Maverick - internet handle of the guy who designed it (from what I understand, his was simply the most famous)

Death and taxes - it's what the deck does, Finn explains it on his primer a bit better than that.

Death and Taxes: It's from the phrase "There's only two things certain in life." The deck is all about the inevitable lockdown.

How to make a French Flag:

1. Start with a white cloth.
2. Tie it to a pole.
3. Wave it around then run away.

With the "Forged in Stone" commander deck, do you guys think it's better to:

A) Go full retard on equipment
B) Go full retard on tokens

I obviously haven't played it yet, but I think Nahiri is overhyped and not that good. There are so many bad cards in the deck, I feel like I'm going to be replacing 2/3rds of it.

I bought it because my EDH end goal is to have a red edh (pre ordered built from scratch), a white edh (preordered Forged in Stone), a black edh (have, Iname, Death Aspect), a rakdos edh (Have, Mogis, God of Slaughter), a boros edh (Ideas?), and orzhov edh (Ideas?) and a Mardu edh (Have, Kaalia).

You should play more blue. It's probably the most fun color in EDH.
Boros lacks unique generals.

And I'd say you go all out on equipment rather than tokens, since there's a lot of better ways to to tokens than mono white.
