his story makes me think of the Tyrannosaurus trying to push the car off the cliff in Jurassic Park

in the movie I was rooting for the dinosaur to squish the kids and in the article i was rooting for the maniacal driver

Yep, it's always down for maintainence Wednesday morning so you either have to play Tuesday evening or Wednesday evening. It's annoying since it disrupts my play in the morning plan.

I have more a problem with Todd Anderson's beard than his personal life. SCG as a whole allows its writers to submit articles about how shitty their lives are and how it sucks to be fat, dumped, bad beats, etc. I don't know why they think people want to read sob stories, even if there is a silver lining after you trudge through the 2,000 word emo "opener" that sets it up. Amateurish all-around over there.

Todd's wife is supporting his habit and they're both getting fatter every time I see them because they eat at Denny's every night and don't do shit but sit at fold out tables, she is just as guilty as she is for letting him suck her into the dark world to begin with. She could have jumped in the car and drove away with me

But upon entering the city, we got turned around somewhere due to the excess of one-way streets but eventually, we got within striking distance of our hotel.
From Todd Anderson.

If I remember correctly my English teacher said you shouldnt make sentences like this. Is this sentence grammatically correct in US-English?

It's not written explicitly incorrectly but it just has a poor choice of words "But, but"

Not remotely. You should never start a sentence with "but" unless you know what you're doing.

Actually that is a myth, conjunctions can be used to start sentences. I am assuming Pedro's was taught not to because it is still a better rule of thumb to avoid the habit.

Yeah that might be it. I read a lot of books in English and I think it was a first time I saw that kind of sentence, that was hard to understand not vocab-wise, but grammar-wise. To be honest English grammar is quite easy to learn (maybe times might be hard to use perfectly, I heard there is 16 times in English). If you want to see hard grammar, see this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_grammar
The hardest language to learn is: Polish – Seven cases, Seven genders and very difficult pronunciation. The average
English speaker is fluent in their language at the age of 12, in contrast, the average Polish speaker is fluent in their language after age of 16.

Time flies like an arrow.
Fruit flies like a banana.

As a language, English sucks. The pronunciation is erratic at best (as an aside, I find the spelling of "phonetic" to be quite ironic), there are more exceptions than rules and we borrow damn near half our words from other languages anyway.

English is a bastard language. Basically the romance languages got fucked up on hard liquor at a party and ended up screwing a few germanic languages. They had an assortment of illegitimate children who then fucked each other. The child resulting from that became the English Language.

@Khaos and LD: The mothership released an article to help you set-up recording here.

Basically they recommend either:
OBS <-- Free
FFSplit <-- Free
XSplit <-- Paid program

Give those a shot if your still having problems.

Even if you know what you are doing, it's still poor form in written English.

Not really, it's quite common. Writing should reflect the language, and starting sentences that way often does.

And just who do you think you are calling us poor forumists?
