Doesn't EIdolon do some work against blue? Shortening the game against a deck that needs to drop a 4-drop to win seems ok. Obviously Firedancer is good. 2/3/3 EoGR/SFD/YP?
Anger?
Take my opinion with a grain of salt, but here it is: For me, my life total matter against blue devotion, because once they get that Thassa down, is a short race. Yeah, we can control their devotion numbers, but it only gets me so far, so those extra few points of damage I'd take from the Eidolon, I'd rather avoid. The Pyromancer gets me out of a lot of bad situations in general and, even though I miss
Ash Zealot, I'm not ready to give away the slot on my deck. Also,
Satyr Firedancer gives me a
sort of card advantage and tempo on the race, since while it is out I don't have to control the board, I can just send to the face and let 'em deal with it. Overall I think is a easier card to use and well, I'm far from being a pro. I've also been facing a lot of aggro lately, from Boss Sligh deck to Jund Monsters, Blue Devotion, White Weenies, so on so forth. Yes, I do understand than counting on creatures against Jund has consequencer, but hey, if they want to kill my Satyr, good for them, I'll gladly keep my
Young Pyromancer. Against blue control, if that's what you meant, just bring in the
Firedrinker Satyr and [card]Toil // Trouble[/card] and will make things a lot easier. I also think
Anger of the Gods can be good, I just don't see a reason to use, while running
Young Pyromancer and [card]Chandra's Phoenix[/card], it kinda defeats the
purpose of it.
My list is not a professional list, is not a list someone would ever take to a tournament, but for sure is a lot easier to use, as people like me are still learning "How to Burn" (really should come with a manual), that's why I posted. Is far, far from being excellent, maybe good or descent at most, but it is doing the job fine for me
