Lets be real; ANT is basically UB control. It just kills in a reasonable amount of time.

It's basically the only legacy deck I REALLY enjoy playing.

Goblins was also pretty sweet about a year ago. I'd play death and taxes if I could just skip game 1s.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

I play a jank mono-black clerics, and it actually fares pretty well considering it only cost $150.

12 maindeck discard spells really helps to have around.

Not that my research has found, at least not anymore. Legion Games used to, but it was prohibitively expensive; according to them, the clincher wasn't the overhead cost (let's face it, people will pay whatever they're asking for custom sleeves) but rather the return costs. Back when they did it, you had to email them the image you wanted, and too many people were sending them back, bitching that they didn't get the correct part of the image or it was too pixelated or whatever. :(

I've done well with proxied legacy burn, but mostly because I don't know the format very well and counting to 20 has a very high skill floor (and probably low comparative ceiling). I'm working on a RDW variant, because I lack the money for the real thing, but if i'm lucky I can ruin some people's day. Going to try to apply the same principle to modern too, just a few swap outs (no price of progress, :( sad face :( ), because F' nonbasic lands.

And tomorrow I'm going to to start playing in a commander league, so I should probably get ezuri up to snuff, because my only half decent deck is nekusar and that's just a pile of killspells with a silly wincon.

Legacy RDW with chrome Mox, artifact lands, bolt, galvanic blast and shrapnel blast can't be that bad.

Is that really RDW or is it more Burn by that point?

http://www.yourcardsleeves.com/
Dude had a kickstarter a while back, and was slowly working at it. There hasn't been an update in months though, but the last that was heard was that he had them good to ship, and was working on the fuckton of preorders.

That's all I know -shrugs-
Dunno if he died, if he is sending out preorders, if people are getting them, etc, etc, etc.
But he does nominally make custom sleeves.

1K GPT next weekend, legacy invitational the week after. Better learn how to shuffle.
Get a deck with sleeves and mindlessly shuffle that while you do other stuff. It's also therapeutic (for some people) as a bonus.

I recommend the KMC Hyper Mattes, best sleeves I've ever used.

Can't really go wrong with basic black, matte sleeves. I avoid the slick sleeves since they either stick together in the humidity we get here, or they slide all over the damn place.

Windstrider, your latin in your sig made me want to try something, but it ended horribly.

I tried to find the roman for 'i burn', but the result was 'i am on fire'.
That said, 'cogito ergo uror' sounds awesome. But 'I think, therefore I am on fire' is hilarious to me for some reason.

I have been digging my legion sleeves lately, they haven't split yet (crossing my fingers) and mine have a Guy Fawkes mask on the back, which is awesome. They are a little slick, but I tend do actually prefer that, and the plastic is thicker even than dragon shields (my commander deck is a little thicker than it was in dragons). After that I have 4 sets of dragon shields that are performing admirably, and two different sets of ultrapros that split more than the others, one of which was free and serves as my limited sleeves.

If I'm not mistaken, the Latin for 'I burn' would be 'Ura.' Not the most jazzy sounding work, sadly, but you could make it 'Urara' (I burn with burning) or 'Ururazi' (pronounced oohroohratsi) (I am the burning).

Debating getting DtR sleeves with the new logo. Anyone tried this guy yet? Looks like people who were going the route of that kickstarter guy, have actually gotten stuff from this guy.

Shuffle video on October 29, 2013

Thoughts? DtR order with sweet new logo by NBW?

I kinda want nekusar sleeves for commander. I love the art, and having your general on your sleeves would be awesome. I saw some nicol bolas sleeves a while back that I considered (before commander 2013 came out), but I had no idea what deck I was going to put in them, and now that I do know I can't find them.

I researched them briefly. All I know is the sleeves are usually a lithographic print of some kind, usually on polypropylene. What kind of ink, where to get plates, how to weld the edges... no idea.

Why couldn't caller of the claw make wolves instead of bears? It would have such beautiful synergy with raised by wolves and [card]wren's run packmaster[/card]. Play packmaster exiling caller, packmaster and some other shit dies to mass removal, and then enchant caller with raised by wolves for massive value. Sadly this does not work (though championing caller to packmaster is still a pretty good play).
