went 3-1 with a horrendous ug sealed deck, my opponent offered to split in the last round but not for qp's, only packs. i said i need qp's, he said let's play for qp's and loser gets packs. i said no. i assured him my deck is horrible and he will win. he said no you will win. i learn through the match he has 3 first pick rares in his deck and a turn 2 voyaging satyr all 3 games. i told him not to message me ever again and then blocked him.

still got 1 qp and some packs for my trouble.

MDU mentioned receiving a foil copy of the month's promo before but that might not be the case anymore.

So, going 4-2 in the prelims gets you another LED. Going 6-0 gets you a foil LED. So there is huge value in just participating. Finals are worth good money too if you can prepare. Sick!

Can someone, I'm looking at you MDU , please explain what the references I keep seeing to rating on MTGO and meta mean. The way it comes across suggests that MTGO matches you with opps of a similar rating. Does it?

Rating is purely for personal pride and bragging rights, it effects tournaments, play or pairings in no way

Yup, if you get 30+ you can just play in multiple prelims and try to get another copy of the promo, instead of waiting for finals

I will help but you need to tell me what time to be on (US Eastern Standard Time).

I will do the best I can, it's more difficult to study a pool in a forum list as opposed to doing it with the mtgo sort options.

I think rating effects the parings when you all have the same score (not so much in SE, but in DE and PE) - haven't you ever notice that players like _megafone_ will almost always pair up with nsw1074 eventually? it could be random but it happens much too often imo.

The Time for Event is Mar 08 7:00 AM Pacific Time, if you log on MTGO and look at Schedule Events you can see it if you scroll down (I'll attach the the pool in MTGO format so you can build it online if you wish + word file if others prefer that method).

you'll just need to toss the file here (I think it should be the same place for everyone):

The puppy is very cute, but it's hard to concentrate on the game with her playing in the room and threatening to shit on the floor at any second.
