I'm not a legend of Zelda type. When everyone was going nuts over that I was playing Doom. When they were going nuts for Twilight princess I was playing Serious Sam. DO I enjoy playing LoZ games... very few. Not bad games. just not my kind of games.
Not having exp kinda dulls the experience a bit. Takes away some of the enjoyment from crawling through the dungeons.
I do love
playing the NES ones, link to the past, and M mask. You can blame my cousin on my MEH on OoT. put in 6 hours only for him to delete my save cause he didn't want to delete his other and wanted to start over.

did you punch him?

The very first gaming-related gift I ever got was Zelda II, and it's always been my favorite. It always surprises me that it's considered the worst in the series and people have, like, tried to get petitions to remove it from the canon and shit.

it's a good game, but the world map is ugly and annoying and the game itself is more difficult than zelda fans prefer

Link's Awakening was the only one I played extensively. I named myself Thief everytime just because it was inevitable anyway.

Yeah, I get all that; when I got the game I was like 8 or some shit and my kid-brain just wasn't capable of beating it for years and years so I know it's really frustrating. I'm just surprised at the people who, like, feel it's their duty to inform players not to play it and rage at it all the time because of its flaws.

did anyone here find all the masks in majora's mask without using a guide / internet? that is one of the first games I caved in and needed help with.

Well, part of it was the crippling arthritis I got from a childhood dedicated to Zelda II and running through Contra games without using the code.

I hated Majora's Mask when it first came out but came to love it.

I mean, the impending doom of the motherfucking Moon smashing your shit to bits in three days - and the only way to fend it off is to manipulate time until you can get some giants to show up? I don't know why I sucked so much as a kid.

Windwaker was pretty good, too. I feel like one of the few people who didn't bitch about the graphics.

"Meh on OoT"
You would go meh on a game after everyone talks about it nonstop and you wasted time trying to play it only for your save to be deleted. Cant get myself to sit down and do it again. BUT I can sit and play MM. And No couldn't get all masks without a guide. lol.

I do want the new 3ds one.

The water temple now has colored doorways which indicate where the player must change the water level at to make it less tedious to those who apparently got lost in the temple.

I get fucked up in the Water Temple no matter how many times I have beaten the game. It's not the water levels, it's that there is a key I always get confused finding. And yeah, fuck the water levels.

It's more that the forum masks we all know and love aren't easily transferred to the proprietary software the beta is using, but tomato/tomahto.
