Tormented Hero isn't a card I would want to play; it just gets blanked too easily IMO.
I do agree that a black base is more likely to work.

He's not the ideal card to have. But Toughtseize solves so many issues tho.
Boon of Erebos and Fate Foretold are probably the best cards for this deck - both are good at protecting Pain Seer from being blown up. Hidden Strings is in theory op, but not sure if strong synergies make up for generally not that high powerlevel.

24 Land
4 JaceAoT
4 Thoughtseize
4 Agent of Fates
4 Painseer
4 Nightveil Spectre
That's the core of what I would play. How many enablers, how much removal, what other creatures to add? I don't know.

Agent of Fates encourages you to run quite a few enablers; but that puts you in a hole if he dies.

Yup.
It may be that all the pieces are there (I don't quite think so after trying to make a few lists), but even so, the idea is inherently flawed.

There just isn't enough upside IMO. If you can't make Agent of Fates work, you start looking at a more traditional tempo build; but I *think* the upside isn't there when compared to Mono U Devotion.

please link me to the vid I wanna see how bad he played it lolI am also banned from MJ chat. He was trying out Pyro deck and was bashing it so hard because he kept misplaying. I told him "MJ you should change your name from DarkestMage to DarkestBaddie because you are terrible at slinging spells"
I swear to God, every thread we make falls victim to Godwin's law except instead of Hitler it's redthirst's piece.

It's a very fringe deck so it's hard for people to pack hate for it without making their other matchups significantly worse. There are two way to run the deck: Fists or Fury of the Horde + Soul Spike to win as early as turn two. The latter is easily the most unfair deck in the format.

I know I like to dedicate sideboard slots to a deck that is a massive 0.000001% of the meta.

Cool deck but looks weak to Blood Moon, Gattock Teeg, and counter spells. BAD. Also, top decking this deck with no hand looks bad. It is a shock deck against opponents, but RedNilhalist was right about recognizing it for play changes. Thus I find this deck a flash in pan scenario.

Uhhhh, yes. I am a terrible typer, but great at writing research papers. My ambidextrous mind hates typing and I just use "hunt pick and peck method" of typing. Texas talk is slightly different and we use more aggressive terminology. Is English your first language? Cause you remind me of Onar but your location says Texas and the whole thing leaves me

There's a third way to run the deck. You take out Emmy and add Necrotic Ooze and go green. I like that deck but unfortunately it's a lot more fair.

"when playing red, you don't have to care about what your opponent is going to do" . I seem to struggle everyday with people who believe this statement to be true.

Some more dryrunning and thinking about UB Tempo Heroic later.
I think Agent is a trap. He´s a slow Clock on the spot in the curve and adds a utility that his own colour doesn´t exactly struggle finding.
A bigger trap is overloading on Heroic. E.g. there may be more creatures that are worth untapping with Triton Tactics. Pain Seer is an obvious candidate.
Those 2 thoughts made me consider implementing heroic in a another shell and go from there rather than consider it a whole new archetype. MonoB could be a candidate with some shifting around. Instead of MonoB's main strategy of removing opponents stuff until landing something to boost Devotion followed by Gary or go for ca and Pack Rat swarm it´d be a more all round synergy approach.
-D.Demon gains value from this similar to what Agent does, but better. When they sac a guy to keep DD down we can untap and attack with Tactics (or block). Essentially the same
thing, but we get a +1/+1 on our giant flier in the process.
-Artisan now has a copy target irrespective of opponents deck.
-Torment of Herald should exhange Spectre. It´s a underused spot in the curve (I´m not in 100% agreement that the card draw is worth it) and its Bestow to boost Artisan and Pain Seer fits well.
Thus I´d want to experiment with:
Artisan of Forms
Pain Seer
Torment of Herald
Desecration Demon
Thoughseize
Removals/counters fit for the current meta.
