I pretty much visit this and the Pyrored thread exclusively. Supposedly other things happen on this site, and there is drama

That's because all the cool people are in the PyroRed thread. Also, we have Yarpus who is equal parts strategically insightful and psychotic pole.

Hua Tao, Honored Physician. He's the one who taps and puts a creature from the gy on top of your library. Here's a link to the full spoiler: http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/a ... ature/269c All of them are excellent buys. Some sweet eternal cards too. Portal 3k scattered throughout, though Hua Tao is the highlight.

Serene Master is my favorite magic card ever printed.

It'll drop for a while, then go right back up. Card was down to almost $3 last time they printed these.

I'm glad they're finally reprinting these previously unattainable PTK cards. I remember wanting to play in a Legacy Open a few years ago but being literally unable to find the Imperial Recruiters I needed.

It's a 2-mana 2-for-1 in relevant colours with relevant types. What's the harm?

Besides being a black artifact creature that dodges most removal, being an incredibly efficient blocker that replaces itself, and just being a pain in the ass?

I mean, I'll admit it's less frightening in a format without ninjas, but still.

You do need to try to gay it up a little more.

You're like the least gay member of this clan.

And that's counting the fact that you voluntarily have sex with men.

I'm actually wondering what's the best splash for R/x Devotion.

White gives you: Assemble the Legion, Aurelia's Fury, Boros Charm, Wear//Tear, Scrylands

Black Gives you: Rakdos' Return, Doom blades, Read the Bones, thoughtseize

Green gives you: Planeswalkers

Decisions...

I'm for sure buying Grixis just to sell TrueName Nemesis and Baleful Strix. TrueName Nemesis is the new Tarmo in Legacy. 3-power, protection from everything (and who the fuck uses wraths in Legacy). Wow. I've never thought Wizards gonna wreck legacy like that.

Was just reading an article on devotion by Anthony Lowry on SCG. Seemed fairly good until I read the following:

"The aggro-combo deck of the bunch, Mono-Red Devotion not only boasts... the second-best planeswalker in the format..."

Second-best my ass!

Frustration is closing the thread before you go to bed; waking up; going to school; coming home, hoping to get stared on a paper; opening the clan thread and realizing that you motherfuckers made 6 pages worth of new posts.
Sadness is waking up and realizing that there were only 6 new posts since you went to bed.

FNM tonight, meta is pretty healthy. 26 people with at least 2 of each of the following consistently: Esper, Mono Green Devo/Stuffs, Devo Red(places), UW Control(places), GW with Unflinching, Dega(places), monored aggro, then lots of random. Gameday will see most of the same plus at least 1 or 2 Master of Babes.

Trying to figure out best deck to run tonight try and hit 3-0 to grab some credit tonight and then snatch a playmat tomorrow before Punch the Dragon. Have the cards for almost all our brews, save Stormbreath Dragon. I want to run Big Boros, but don't feel there are any strong enough replacements for SBD. PyRos as it looks like my meta may be more midrange/control right now?

Actually that would make a good content post for anyone who's got lots more experience than me this season, which red brews are favored against what type of metas. My guess with only two events under my belt for Theros is:

PyroRed: Aggro
heavy meta
PyRos: Midrange heavy meta
RedDevo: Aggro and Midrange mix
Big Boros: Control heavy meta with aggro
Rakis: Battleship creature based meta
Boros Aggro: Unknown metas
Some men just want to watch the planes burn. . .and most of them are here.

You want to test something maybe?

[deck]Creatures: 24
4 Firedrinker Satyr
4 Rakdos Cackler
4 Ash Zealot
4 Frostburn Weird
4 Boros Reckoner
4 Stormbreath Dragon

Spells: 11
4 Magma Jet
4 Lightning Strike
3 Chandra, Pyromaster

Lands: 25
3 Mutavault
22 Mountain

Sideboard: 15
4 Mizzium Mortars
4 Chandra's Phoenix
4 Burning Earth
3 ???????????????[/deck]

Haven't tested yet, but it looks fast enough to give Control fits, big enough to power through Midrange, and resilient enough to fuck with Aggro.

Brain no like thinky this morning.
Yeah, yeah. So, how is that different than any other time? :-p

My son is sick with a chest cold, and the dry air around here aggravates his cough, so he keeps waking up in the middle of the night. We're also trying to move him to his toddler bed, which he doesn't like. I've been sleeping in his room on a folded-over futon mattress piled with comforters, which is about as comfortable as it sounds. :no2:

Every time I tried to fall asleep last night, he woke up coughing. Then he decided he wanted to sleep on the futon mattress, effectively pushing me off. I ended up sleeping on the couch around 3:30 so as not to disturb my wife, who had to work today. But she gets up at 5:30 to get ready, and
her moving around woke me up.

tl;dr I've had about 3 hours of sleep. The coffee helps but not enough.
