Alright bitches. Shut up because it's time for some official clan shit:

Tier 1 -> 2:

FIA
coffeecolder
JadePhoenix
DerWille
Aodh

Tier 2 -> 3:
Nuwen
Fate
Johnny_Spike
Helios
Sasky

If you don't have new access to the Restricted/Private forums by the end of the day just lmk.

Congrats!
I just want to also say congratulations to all the members promoted.

But I especially want to recognize all of our new Tier 3 Members. The Council discussed at length what it really means to be Tier 3, and in fact, this is one of my exact quotes:
More
importantly, they've grown as players. And we should recognize that.

And you know what, I think that is what exactly should separate a Tier 3 member from a Tier 2 member - Red Skillz. Somebody that is Tier 3 should be a bastion of knowledge and advice. This is someone that we can take their opinions, deck ideas, and brews as a serious contribution. These are people that we can trust to explain who we are and what really playing Red really means to the everyman.

I would put that trust in those 3. For serious.
Obviously, we promoted more than three.

:D

You guys have worked hard, especially in the last few months: growing as players, undertaking the responsibilities of managing and writing Primers, general awesomeness, and most importantly, helping other Red Mages work on their decks, game, and life.

Watching all of ya'll improve has made me
realize that this is the fucking best Clan and fellowship any one person could ask for.

I'm extremely proud to know all of you.

And to all of our new members: I'm glad to have you guys aboard. It's going to be an awesome year. :jam:

Feels good to be promoted. Sorry I haven't contributed as much lately, midterm week kept me busy. I went 3-3 drop at states with a Dos Rakis port. 2-1 against Junk, 1-2 against Esper, 2-0 against Simic evolve, 1-2 against Rakdos midrange, 2-0 against UW control, 1-2 against Junk Reanimator. Narrow losses, may have punted the Rakdos match--conceded before I was dead and actually would've won for 50% of his draws. Congrats to all the Top 16s.

Man, I can't believe you're letting a scrub like me be called a peer. Everything I know about Magic is sourced to this forum. If I'm a shiny member, it's only because the content here has never led me astray.

I'm also amazed at Fate's dogged quest to perfect the archetype of his soul. You guys have let me see someone I love LEARN and connect realizations together, and I've gotten to see his mind tested in ways I never imagined.

And frankly, you've helped me healthily realize how much of a blind asshole I can be. There were days when I gave Fate flack for investing so much of himself in a game I didn't respect - I would make fun of the systemic variance and call the product distribution scheme a Ponzi. This forum provided support and a driving force for Fate when I couldn't, and I'm grateful beyond words. It has been only through Fate's rapid mastery of Magic that I have come to truly appreciate how intricate
this game can be.

Thanks for helping me be better, both as a person & player. <3

Excited to see the future, yo.

What are these haters of RDW wanting, hour long games of "land, go"? I used to play RDW during the Innistrad/Scars blocks and won a ton of FNM nights. Earned myself a lot of packs from winnings. Folks would bitch and complain that the deck had no strategy. I just said your creatures and you now know what running the beaches of Normandy is like. Direct damage is boss and wonder why so many fail to see the awesomeness of that "strategy".

Starting the ham challenge as of yesterday due to increased job activity and family being over at the house. Yeh, it's cheating but those first few days are torture. Having the mind busy at work and inability to be alone in the evening helps. Projected end date December 7th. It's a hard goal (pun intended), but go big or go.....

Editor's Note: This hefty and deeply detailed article was originally posted on the Competitive Standard subforums by Kamahl, the Fallen. Since then, this edited copy has been published as an article, in anticipation for more Standard articles from Kamahl coming later this week. We had a minor beef with him in his Dega midrange thread last standard season over his choice to run Purge the Profane instead of Rakdos's Return. He argued for days with us before quietly removing all mention of PtP from his decklists.

Interesting... I can sorta see the point of PtP, but 2 life gain and only 2 card discard is so underwhelming compared to the insane dickery that is R'sR...

At any rate, I just read his article, and not sure how I feel about his RDW section... Feels a little generalized, not even mentioning all the different rdw styles, and something about it just doesn't feel right... Can't quite put my finger on it though e.e

But the RDW section still makes me sad.

It might be a combination of the smelt, the 4 BE's, the Denizens(who I am very critical of), and no Reckoners(who I kinda have a way-to-big hard-on for)
