I completely agree with most all of that.
That's actually why I like shock a lot. Fills the curve, gains tempo, and can be very high impact against the aggressive decks. Mogis seems like a fine 2-of to me as it's still a nice 4 power beater that provides lots of reach. With all the red intensive cards, I just like having access to a couple as a value 4 drop that can win the game.
I'm also the biggest fan of maindecking a mizzium mortars because you can almost always find a use for it. Opponent thinks there safe with blood baron? Mortars. Ghor-clan should be a 2-for-1? Mortars. Turn 2 smiter? Mortars. Elspeth stabilize? Overload mortars motherfucker.

I ain't saying she's a gold digger. But she ain't fucking with no broke niggas.
@khaos: I'm curious to see how necessary skullcrack is or isn't. I'm playing one because Hammer makes them gaining life fairly unimportant.

Revelation decks with Jace is a thing. I don't want to be unprepared in the slightest bit.I ain't saying she's a gold digger. But she ain't fucking with no broke niggas.

Fortunatelty, I just replace Flames of the Firebrand with it for a strict upgrade in that match.

In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.
I rarely skip a Khaospawn wall of text because I know there is always piss at the end of the rainbow.

I don't think Chandra ever went below ¥2000 here. I dare say Japanese players are better at evaluating cards than their international counterparts (myself included). I was deeply disappointed, and vocal about Chandra because it wasn't anything like what I wanted to see and I couldn't see beyond current standard. Turns out in new standard she's a lot better in the new standard and in modern. I was wrong.
Glad I cracked two copies and got them signed at the GP.
Hammer on the other hand, I had no opinion on really, until I tried it. It's really good.

Rage:
since straight up aggro is faster
at least dynachrage will allow you to blow out some games
like if you had dynacharge here
you would have done 15 dmg
Laki: I like pyro since it lets me play a longer game
Eldritch: red's not supposed to play a long game
Laki: It CAN play a long game
Eldritch: not a very good one
Laki: Like, I haven't lost to control in a while
Eldritch: it lacks card advantage and board presence
your turn 10 vs. sphinx's revelation for 7, who wins
or vs. a naya deck and they are playing stormbreath dragons turn 4
Laki: I've actually beaten multiple sphinxes against a couple control decks
the only card that really gives me trouble are boros reckoners
Against everything else, I can usually grind out games with Virtual card advantage
Eldritch: 1/1 tokens arent really card advantage
Laki: from things like chandra, manlands, pyro, phoenix, etc.

No you're right. It's just that magic players are the worst competitive players of any game I have ever played. The level of competitive and strategic understanding in eSports underscores how retarded magic players are. Case and point, the following are considered world class players: Brad Nelson, Todd Anderson, Cedric Phillips.Which is funny because in games like Starcraft people understand instantly. If normal CA is having tons of workers on minerals, VCA is having tons of barracks to make marines.
(Watch me completely make an ass out of myself and get CA and VCA wrong)
I rest my case.
@ JS, I agree. I think Japanese Nationals are likely the toughest in the world (France is second).

Everyone's a winner, we're making our fame,1 - Drunk, surly zem
2 - Nice, modest zem
3 - Bragpost zem
4 - Confident and funny zem
5 - Condescending jerk zem
6 - Self-aware zem

Japanese nats aren't simply the hardest but BY FAR the hardest. Japan tourneys are stacked and it doesn't help that the average Japanese player is probably a lot better then your typical average magic player because they tend to focus more on technical play(though they are wacky deckbuilders, likely in a good way).
