I'd rather have 20 inches of snow than 20 inches of redthirst.
Come on, that's just the tip

In comment on the UB control thing, a dude here ran the list from GP Shizuoka and was the only undefeated in the swiss at the tourney last week.

That said, it has problems with b/x devo more then any of the other top decks, which considering how silly popular that deck is...

I wouldn't run that list myself, it can be done better.

Anyway, time to publish another article, any proof reader volunteers?

I've got an idea for a UB Control variant for GP Melbourne (Standard); going to work on it for two weeks; if it doesn't come together ill play UW Control.
there is no substitution for rev
Opportunity; but it's not like you just try to substitute cards; the deck would be a bit different. It's completely a meta call.

Because if the FoS were the Fellowship of the Ring, I would be Gimli. So...yeah. That would be my line.

I can't do this. I just can't.

However...

I think Z would be Legolas since he's a pretty man ( :unibrow: )and could probably fight his way through a crowd of orcs...or thugs.

I think redthirst would be Gandalf only because Gandalf says what he means, yet is pretty wise. I see that in redthirst.

LP woud be Aragorn because he's a rugged motherfucker with a sense of honor. Plus he's good in a scrap.

Kaze would be Boromir because I could see Kaze one day getting really drunk, attempt to take something that isn't his, and then end up with an arrow in the back. Love you, Kaze.

Nobody deserves to be
one of the Hobbits. That's why this so hard.

Although I could imagine Helios as Merry. Merry is funny and aloof, but is a good friend with a sense of duty. He sticks by his friends and tries to do the right thing. And even when his friends get into trouble, Merry would be there right along with them, attempting to pull their asses out of the fire.

I had the most glorious play at EDH today. I had a Nevi disc in play and this kid thought he was going to shit on everyone with his mimeoplasm and his blatant thievery. I waited until he stole everyone's creatures and used his mana and then cracked the disc. The look on his face was priceless.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the list, it just lacks the depth of UW in my opinion. Thoughtseize isn't great against control unless in multiples so I don't see you beating a control deck with more planeswalkers. Remember, they have Elixir too, and more win-cons to recycle.
