I don't think we have an official logo yet, that's the point. That one is cool but it's replaceable

I do like the way GR let the DTR stand out to make the words not smash together, it might be good to keep with that since we might have a dtr type redirect someday

I would say No Unless its very MINOR animation on it. Something that catches the eye BUT doesn't distract it. Prefer a non-animated one as its less of an issue to the eye and less of an issue of breaking.

They're not really that hard to make, obviously a little more time intensive but minor ani's ain't no thang. I can let the entry speak for itself, just wanted to know if they were a possibility.
Speaking of submissions, putting a cap on the max. number I can put in? I'll be pretty free this weekend.

In case it's worth anything, I totally agree with this. The only animated banner that I've liked is...I think Something Awful. Might be 4chan though. Either way...it's just a normal banner, and on occasion Grand Moff Tarkin's head pops up and goes back down. It's not terribly distracting, because it doesn't happen frequently enough to be.

Save it to your computer, then upload... that's how I had to do it.
