Civ4 4 LIFE.

Arkham Horror is awesome-sauce if you have the time for it (I played took 4 hours, although I've talked to people who have had games end in 15 minutes).

Yeah that's one of the difficulties with an otherwise awesome game to play, you always need to consider that one game could take very long to finish.

Once, and I won despite some (what I'm told were) poor game decisions

I play settlers somewhat regularly. One of my buddies has like all of the expansions but I prefer to play the original. I usually try to get as much ore as possible and trade it to people for shit I need.

I really like Cities and Knights. It adds a nice complexity to the game that I felt it was lacking.

the disadvantage to that expansion is if you get behind, you really get behind.

Wanted to buy Pandemic as a gift for a friend, but it seems that the game is out of production...

You guys have any other suggestions? We have and like games as settlers, smallworld, arkham horror/elder sign, and more of that kind of stuff.

Carcassone is a good game that feels pretty similar to Settlers, but plays pretty differently. And, uh, Citadels...

Power Grid might be fun. I think it's by the same guys that make Pandemic.

Glad I got my copy of Pandemic a few months ago

Never heard of Power Grid before. Looking online here it looks pretty similar to Ticket to Ride in some ways. Is it? Might have to check that one out.

I've played ticket to ride before, that's a good one too. Hmm I'll have to look in to that Power Grid thing, from this glances google gives me it seems to share the 'connectionistic' aspects of Ticket. Thanks!

I've never played it, just eye it whenever I go to book stores. It looks fun.

Power Grid is the nuts if you have reasonable opponents. Otherwise it's rather boring.

Puerto Rico is super complex, but the 2-3 games I've played were enjoyable.
