Okay, I'm behind the times. What's the story here? Sarkhan went back in time and changed some things and now we're in an alternate reality present where all the legendary creatures have changed?

He went back in time so the Dragons won the war, stopping Judgment Day.
Now instead of smashing helms, Zurgo can ring bells in their utopian dragon-run society.

But if Ugin's not a spirit dragon then he never could have cast ghostfire. And if he couldn't cast ghostfire, he couldn't have bound the Eldrazi. And if he didn't bind the Eldrazi, the entire multiverse must be on the verge of being consumed!
