Is Flamespeaker playable in Vintage?

That list went 3-1 in a vintage daily and 5-3 in some vintage mtgo event so...probably not?

I don't ask to troll, I just assume that 3-drops who die to Bolt and only provide marginal value on turn 4 could be a poor choice in Vintage.

I just love the card, but haven't found the right shell or format for him.

Dunno, there isn't too much removal in the format and hamstringing your opponents mana via Thalia makes it difficult to actually cast spells

Ah, my unfamiliarity with the format shows up at last!

The hate bears are all very good, I suppose focusing on the finisher is silly when the 2 drops are putting the lock on.

I'm not too familiar with it either

The idea of chalice, land, exile spirit guide, Thalia sounds rage inducing enough for me to appreciate it

Why Sudden Shock?

Both Infect and Delver are trouble in the older formats.

Why Sudden Shock?
Laboratory Maniac

Doomsday is a very real presence in the Vintage meta and will easily (a relative term when discussing Doomsday) win on the stack after resolving Maniac. A lot happens on the stack in vintage so it's still relevant in other matchups.

I'm curious if no black lotus was a deliberate choice

I know even null Rod decks play it because turn 1 null Rod is pretty good

i kinda doubt it was deliberate (as in, I own Lotus but don't want to include it), but it may have been.

If you don't have any power to play with, the posted list looks like a compelling build to play in vintage.
