Saw that list last week while looking at MTGGoldfish. It piqued my interest, although I still want to play Atarka Red over this. Love the tribal synergy.

I'm considering RW, Mardu, or Jeskai for Gameday. This list caught my eye. I'm looking at Ashcloud Phoenix and Flamewake Phoenix in particular. I'm expecting a ton of GR Dragons and mono red with a few UBx control and Abzan aggro.

I suppose I could run a much lower to the ground version with Seekers and Slashes though.

6 2-drops might be a good solution to keep RDW. I had almost the same idea after my last tournament, only 4 is not enough to keep the ground safe.
Still not decided on which pack (dragons or removal/phoenix) to play. But yeah Dragons gives also acces to Haven which is nice.

One more point, I wouldn't play Valorous Stance MD. It has not a good synergy with SGM.

Valorous Stance is necessary to deal with big fliers while being a flex spell for every matchup. Thunderbreak Regent is running rampant, especially in my meta where probably 40% of the field is running it.

1 is sometimes okay. I wouldn't want more than that for game 1. The deck still runs Stoke the Flames as removal too.

I can see moving one Stance to the board for the fourth Ashcloud since it on can deal with bigger fliers and can also trade with Stormbreath.

There are plans, and then there are plans.

[deck]
Creature:
4 Seeker of the Way
2 Soulfire Grand Master
4 Goblin Rabblemaster
4 Hordeling Outburst
4 Thunderbreak Regent
2 Ashcloud Phoenix
3 Stormbreath Dragon

Spells:
1 Chandra, Pyromaster
2 Mastery of the Unseen
4 Wild Slash
2 Draconic Roar
4 Stoke the Flames

Land:
1 Haven of the Spirit Dragon
1 Wind-Scarred Crag
4 Temple of Triumph
4 Battlefield Forge
5 Plains
9 Mountain

Sideboard:
3 Roast
1 Valorous Stance
2 Mastery of the Unseen
2 Seismic Rupture
3 Surge of Righteousness
2 Hammer of Purphoros
1 Ashcloud Phoenix
1 Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker
[/deck]
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

Against Red, yo utake out regent, stormbreath, mastery, and 1 stoke for 3 surge, 2 rupture, 3 Roast, 1 phoenix, and 1 sakrhan.

Against Abzan control, you take out 4 slash, 2 roar, and 4 seeker for 1 stance, 2 mastery, 3 surge, 2 hammer, 1 ashcloud, and 1 sakrhan.

Against abzan agro, you have options for what you take out, but you bring in roast, surge, and sarkhan for sure.

Against control, take out 4 slash, 2 roar, bring in 2 mastery, 2 hammer, 1 ashcloud, 1 sarkahn.

Against green, you want roast, stance, and sarkhan. This is the matchup where you really miss chain, but sacrifices and such. Soulfire and mastery suck, roar may or may not be good, same with outburst. Rupture could be good or aweful as well.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

Oh, I also just copied your manabase Khaos, but if you want more game against control, add a haven in place of something. It's great against them.

It's also possible for you to play a second stance over a second hammer since it's good against control and abzan where hammers good while also being good against green decks.

It's especially good against control since part of your plan is haven+dragon which silumgar shuts down and stance is an answer to dragonlord shenanigans.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

I'm gonna call the deck RW Dragons. XD

Yeah, the mana base looks great on paper. Can't wait to try it out:

2 Haven of the Spirit Dragon
2 Wind-Scarred Crag
4 Temple of Triumph
4 Battlefield Forge
4 Plains
8 Mountain

This deck makes me happy. How often do you end up using the buyback on SGM?
Some men just want to watch the planes burn. . .and most of them are here.

More often than you think. Sometimes as early as turn 4 if you can convoke a stoke.

I've been so spoiled with Ascendancy and Outpost Siege that I absolutely dread playing a deck without them in the 60. I just want to be able to play my broken cards again. :(

It's a different world now.

It's a dromokas commands world and we're just living in it.

LP, thank you the sideboard seems awesome, I loved Hammer pretty excited to play it again. But I don't understand the Mastery of the Unseen MD, what are they for ? Replacing Outpost Siege to take value of it earlier ?

It seems there are a lot less dromokas commands around these days. I think its time to see this deck make a comeback in some shape or form.

I'm testing this early build at the moment.
