EDH Banlist Update September 2014

Postby Gatts » Fri Sep 12, 2014 10:40 pm

http://mtgcommander.net/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17210

Braids, Cabal Minion is banned
Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary is banned
Erayo, Soratami Ascendent is banned

Kokusho, the Evening Star is unbanned
Metalworker is unbanned

In an effort to simplify the EDH banlist, the RC has killed fun.
HANDS OFF MY BRAIDS YOU! :argh:

Haha, Metalworker, you little devil. Come 'ere, give me a hug!

I don't think the EDH banlist was very complicated. The RC must have gotten bored and felt like they had to announce something.

I'm going to miss Rofellos even though I haven't played him in ages. He made for fun games the few times he did get drawn early by my opponents though. Braids ban is unfortunate too. She's very unique in what she does, and she was far from unfair when part of the 99.

Metalworker being unbanned means very good things for Sydri.

The banning had something to do with Offical wizards this that or the other and MODO something or other.

I'm not invested in EDH, so I couldn't be bothered to remember all the reasoning, but it definitely had something to do with wizards, modo, and official banlists.

I'll also accept people are stupid/lazy.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

The feel I'm getting is that this update was the result of laziness and filthy casuals who don't want to understand how some cards are banned as the general but not in the 99.
This doesn't make the game better, it's just simplifying it for those who don't want to take 5 seconds to learn a simple rule.
Now I don't have my precious Braids! :flame:

They could program it so that it works the old way.

Lets be realistic here, the guys who made MODO probably aren't even C+ certified. Do we really want them trying to fix anything?

True that would require them to actually hire something other than a high school student

Sick they took metalworker off the list, making it slightly less ridiculous and arbitrary

Want to hear a secret? Metalworker was never supposed to be on the list in the first place. Even though I have no plans to use the little robot, I'm glad they finally corrected that error.

I guess they never took it off because nobody cared enough and it would probably look bad to unban something they'd just banned months before, but that's just speculation.

The ways of the banning committee are truly mysterious in general, if you've ever read their forums.

I used to be very active there. Then my work blocked their site. So I moved to Sally. Then my work blocked their site. So I moved here. One day, when Scumbag makes his millions, I'll once again set out for greener pastures and eventually settle for Magecraft.

Its already too late for you!!!

Fortunately when this site eventually goes morally bankrupt, some young Turks will no doubt take the banner of Internet Freedom and make a fledgling MTG site which will be once again able to bypass your devilish work filter.

Jesus, I had to go to the bottom of page 2 in Google to find Magecraft at all! You'll be happy to know that "diestoremoval" is the first hit.

Yawgmoth's Will is fine. I'm surprised you picked that one out of the lot. It barely qualifies as good in most EDH decks.

thanks to nbw for the sig.
You do need to try to gay it up a little more.

You're like the least gay member of this clan.

And that's counting the fact that you voluntarily have sex with men.
