I'll do it tonight when I'm not working, since my work computer is wonky. Also, I'm going to change the title of the thread so it says who our General is and whatnot.

Card: Fabricate

Pros:
+ It's a tutor.
+ It's a tutor.
+ IT'S A TUTOR.

Cons:
- ????

Cons: There are better tutors than that.

Demonic Tutor
Image

I'd call these no-brainers, barring an argument against having any tutors at all. Like having a ton of draw making them irrelevant.

Vampiric Tutor

Cons: Only tutors to top deck, but tutors at instant speed which is unique.

Imperial Seal

If we're only building the deck in theory, then in theory we can include this card.

Cons:
- Tutors to top deck, but does it for 1 mana.
- At $700, it's in the running for one of the most expensive Commander legal cards.

Enlightened Tutor

Cons:
- Tutors to top deck, but does it for 1 mana.
- Only nabs Enchantments and Artifacts.

Okay, so there's one strictly better tutor than that.

I mean, why not run Fabricate alongside Demonic Tutor?

Believe me, in Sydri, Fabricate is an all-star.

I also like Reshape a lot.

Not gonna try and pros/cons on my phone but I think we all know why this is being thrown into the mix.

Nothing wrong with running both. Lets just be realistic about the actual pros and cons of things. It's a tutor that only hunts for Artifacts. This deck just happens to be able to entirely play around that drawback.

I can see considering that a card has no drawback within this context of this deck too, though. Different perspectives of looking at things.

Should be able to cheat this asshole out pretty early...

Magister Sphinx
Image

Pros:
- Basically a kill shot.
- Can bring someone with an out of control life gain engine back to heel.

Cons:
- Can be used against you with things like Bribery.

Sooooooo...this is happening in Conspiracy. Looks like this deck just got broken right open.

Card: Muzzio, Visionary Architect.

1UU
Legendary Creature - Human Artificer
3U, :symtap: : Look at the top X cards of your library, where X is the greatest converted mana cost among artifacts you control. You may reveal an artifact card from among them and put it onto the battlefield. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in any order.

I updated the OP and did some thanking. Sorry I've not been around for a few days, I've been out of town celebrating my birthday, and I came down with a nice case of strep on top of that. :highhorse:

Lets us dig through our library to find artifacts that we want
Gives us a similar effect that Sydri does

Cons:
No ultimate
Will probably die quickly

Get to voting, scrublords! I started deleting thanks on cards that have already been added to the list. It makes it a little (read: a lot) easier for me to figure out which ones I already have on the list.

@Suga: I'm gonna send out your cards today. I finally had a chance to sit down and figure out what I wanted to send. :D

Also, I'm gonna throw a card in that I'm sure a lot of people forgot about, but seems incredibly good here.

Image

Card: Remember the Fallen

Pros:
+Recurs relevant engines that may have been milled or destroyed.
+Basically targets two things most of the time.
+Has sweet Elspeth art on it.

Cons:
-It's a sorcery, and is a little too conservatively costed for what it does.

I used to think this card was bad, but I played around with it a little bit in another artifact deck and was very shocked at how often it was exactly the card I wanted to put me back into the game. In my Tajic, Blade of the Legion deck, it basically read "Return target equipment and creature to put it on from the graveyard to your hand." which is great when the equipment you're
recurring is something like a Sunforger and the creature is a Brion Stoutarm.

In this deck I could see it grabbing Trading Post and Magister Sphinx. Which, hell, isn't a bad place to be.

Evidently I proposed Enlightened Tutor after Val had already done it. Between the two posts it has two votes.

Also, if we're voting in cards that grab things like Magister Sphinx and Trading Post, we should probably also vote in Magister Sphinx and Trading Post.

So when I was flipping through bulk to find stuff for Suga today, I came across a card that I forgot about that's pretty sweet.

Image

Card: Spine of Ish Sah

Pros:
+Is recurrable spot removal with artifact sacrifice outlets, which the deck already plays.
+Turns into a rather sizeable creature due to having a converted mana cost of 7.
+Makes for a decent mana dump late into the game, and even allows you to "combo off" when you have infinite mana and a sac outlet by destroying everyone's...everything.
+Great tutor target to have in your toolbox.

Cons:
-It costs 7, which is both a blessing and a burden in this deck.
-It isn't that great in your starting hand since it doesn't do much without a sac outlet.
-Doesn't go to the graveyard, so no shenanigans with it from the yard.

Val posted it first. He should get credit for the submission.

I'm going to give it to Val since Doc has more submissions already in. :)

Edit: Shut up Suga!

Card: Buried Ruin

Pros:
+ Recurs an artifact
+ It's a land

Cons:
- Must sacrifice it
- Only produces colorless mana

Posted: Wed May 28, 2014 3:35 pm
by DroppinSuga
I don't think we need to worry as much about colorless mana in this deck since a fair amount of our deck will be colorless.
