Funny thing, I was recently told some stuff about Boubouille and his times over MMO champion, I fear we might have rolled him the red carpet without inquiring on his background first.

 oh well, live to learn I guess.
Didn't someone heroically warn you guys that he would not actually fix anything?

rolling the red carpet WAS a good move as it showed that this side wasn't such a shut in as the other. It showed this side was willing to work while the others kept hiding and throwing stones.
If we could go back then knowing what we know now I say we should STILL do it the same way cause guess what we are the bigger people then them.

Just stay in your car as much as possible while you're visiting Russia and you'll be okay.

And if Deadwood taught us anything, it's that one sheriff cannot change a corrupt town no matter how hard he tries.

Or just a guy who named himself after the last words he said in a strip club.

"Boobs!! Boobs!! Bill???"

Perhaps he was named after the place he was conceived. I hear that's on the rise. Don't believe me, look it up: the number of people named "Cadillac" and "Rape Van" has increased 60,000% in the past decade.

I had an epiphany while driving home tonight that this period will almost undoubtedly go down as the Unhinged of the site's history. It makes an odd form of sense; both are aimed at the extremely casual crowd who are, in theory, the biggest percentage of players, but the fallacy lies in the fact that while this might be true they're also the crowd least able to break out of their kitchen-table groups and the least able to cope with change, leading to some pretty questionable sales numbers. Sure, it's good to tinker with the sets to see if there's room for, er, aggressive expansion, and some loyalists will always remember it fondly, but ultimately if someone asks at some future date if they will ever be another such set the answer will have to be a very businesslike "It's not a top priority."

Ah, lol, sorry.
Long Version
See the site over there is in a very mutable state right now, and has been for many moons. There are many reasons for this, and none of them are very easily obscured, so I'm sure you can draw your own conclusions there, but the end result is that with the wild mood swings found in the staff areas and actions lately there has been a general call to somehow define each portion, each milestone. We don't do much of it here, since we're free here to just call them as we see them, but others do find the exercise helpful so I try to keep up on the latest jargon. Lately I've struck upon the idea of boxing up the latest news in terms of MTG sets to be helpful (if a bit masturbatory), and decided that this latest ponderation of mine was comical enough to stick in the thread. My humor tends towards the sardonic, though. I should have remembered that, so my
apologies, hopefully someone somewhere will get it. :embarrass:

”Symbols are the key to telepathy. The mind wraps its secrets in symbols; when we discover the symbols that shape our enemy's thought, we can penetrate the vault of his mind.”
-Lady Deirdre Skye, “Conversations with Planet,” Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
Put more succinctly, I'm just herple derping.

To be fair, there are a lot of magic sites where the userbase is very bad at magic.

I am on 4chan's /tg/ board from time to time for the 40k and D&D stuff which is usually pretty good, but boy are fa/tg/uys bad at magic. Fa/tg/uys may get shit done, but it's never mtg stuff.

Essential magic was the go to deck building site to beat years back, and the conversation was okay, but if you think that mtgs has fallen, you haven't seen failure like they are. I still use site because it's easier than switching, I can still throw links from there and non-users can see them, and I like the interface.

I'd be willing to give them a full whopper combo, with fries and a root beer, though I'd do my best to talk them into letting me keep the root beer.
