Mono black is an attrition deck. Augur is probably bad but Temples in some number (probably 3) are good.

Ya, mono black is a control version, I was thinking 4 each overgrown tomb, temple of maladay, with some combination of maelstrom pulse, abrupy decay, natures claim possibly rancor in the mainboard/sideboard. Yay nay ?

You should stay mono colored if possible, there is not a real advantage to playing other colors. Abrupt Decay and Maelstrom Pulse are cute, but at the end of the day, any spells that you're going to need to destroy with those cards should instead be discarded via hand disruption. The deck plays anywhere between 10 to 14 discard spells, one of which actually has Retrace. (Raven's Crime)

Here's a list that I pulled off of MODO daily results that seems pretty good. I prefer Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon over Vatmother, but different strokes.

[deck]
Creatures (8)
4 Phyrexian Crusader
4 Phyrexian Vatmother

Noncreature Spells (30)
4 Inquisition of Kozilek
4 Disfigure
4 Funeral Charm
3 Night's Whisper
3 Doom Blade
2 Victim of Night
2 Raven's Crime
2 Wrench Mind
1 Blackmail
1 Thoughtseize
1 Devour Flesh
2 Runechanter's Pike
1 Phyrexian Arena

nMana (22)
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
17 Swamp
4 Inkmoth Nexus

Sideboard (15)
1 Doom Blade
1 Blackmail
1 Thoughtseize
4 Leyline of the Void
4 Duress
2 Bile Blight
2 Pithing Needle[/deck]

True, you see I was thinking of green incase they happen to land somthing like birthing pod before I could discard it. Ive just rememberd about Dampning matrix, wouldnt that be effective against some top decks ?

Unless they're somehow 1.) on the play and 2.) playing pod on turn 2 with no other plays, you should be fine.

I like Damping Matrix in the board, it's not bad. It's probably a beating against Affinity.

Gonna run the deck again at this FNM. I’m sick of playing Burn and everyone’s sideboarding against it anyway. Oh, poor little BW Tokens and Soul Sisters!

Any new sideboard options besides that Infest + scry 1?

2nd place at a 10-man event. Ran a stock list with one Liliana of the Veil taking Vatmother’s place.

[deck]Sideboard[/deck]
Wins:
BW Tokens (LOL Illness)
UR Delver twice (no problems whatsoever; he didn’t run Young Pyro)
WR Soul Sisters featuring Norin the Wary

Loss:
UB Bitterblossom Faeries. Too much counterspells and instant tricks. Managed to win one game by swampwalking, but others were a topdeck war.

Inkmoth Nexus and Phyrexian Crusader. The rest is disruption and removal, you can find a combination that suits your taste and metagame.
