I shaved down to one. The Resto Angels are usually enough, he's a weak body on his own, and in this recent build he's really only good with Defector and Kiki.

He's great if you're running Stoke the Flames, but Thalia makes that an impossible dream.

That's a bit too far for my taste. :p

If Kiki fails, how are you killing your opponent? You can draw all the cards but Resto is your only real threat.

So I'm an idiot and didn't even think about using Flickerwisp to flicker the bouncelands.

Mull to 6 all three games against Bloom Titan, forget to flicker bouncelands with Flickerwisp, win anyway.

My record since v2.0:

2-0 vs Jund
2-0 vs Jund
2-0 vs Mardu aggro (not tier 1 :D)
2-0 vs Merfolk
2-0 vs Soul Sisters
2-0 vs Bloom Titan
2-0 vs Bloom Titan
2-1 vs Bloom Titan
2-1 vs WG Taxes feat. Wilt-Leaf Liege

Need to test vs Grixis, Twin, Burn, Tron, and Affinity before I can call the deck a success.

Another interesting interaction I didn't think about: if you male a copy of Humble Defector with Kiki and donate it, your opponent doesn't sac the copy EOT.

I had three Defectors and a Kiki on the field in one game against Bloom Titan facing lethal next turn. Hadn't seen Resto or Bell-ringer all game. Draw 8, fail to find any. Thanks Worth.

Indeed, flooding the board with Kikis is a fun pastime :)

I've started playing Pithing Needle in the board alongside Runed Halo, since being able to reset them with Flickerwisp is excellent.

I'm not sure about Pithing Needle. What are you naming with it? It seems most relevant vs Griselshoal and Affinity but beyond that I don't see many matchups where I want the effect.

I'm trying to decide between running Relic of Progenitus or Rest in Peace in my board. I'd be boarding these in vs Griselshoal, Grixis, and Dredge, but against the other two I decks Finks is one of the better cards in the deck and it's a nonbo with Rest in Peace. It's also nice that Relic is 1cmc in a deck with not much else to do on turn one.

I'm pleased with the 60 now. At this point I'm trying to work on the sideboard. I'm wondering if staying RW is fine or if splashing for sideboard tech is worth it.

I used Pithing Needle to great effect against Tron yesterday, naming Expedition Map turn 1 to delay his land assembly, then blinking it with Flickerwisp and naming Oblivion Stone to protect my team while I attacked, then blinking it again to name Karn after I'd destroyed his O Stone.

I prefer Relic because it's cheaper and better in multiples.

Some things I have to consider when constructing the sideboard:

1) Do I need dedicated Burn hate beyond the Finks in the 75? Kor Firewalker is very narrow. I need to think of a board plan for this matchup. Defector definitely comes out here. Everything else is decent. Bring in fourth Finks and three other things. Normally I'd be on the Spellskite plan but if Burn players are impulsively boarding in Destructive Revelry in most of the time this plan is much less effective and may even be a liability.

2) I have yet to test against Tron, but I'd imagine this deck is hot garbage against it in game one even with Thalia maindeck. Stony Silence seems mandatory to address this matchup, and it is also great against Affinity (though this deck is actually pretty good against Affinity).

3) I agree with Ham's sentiment re: Relic vs RiP. I think Finks is instrumental in the Grixis matchup and I don't want to hose it with RiP despite how strong it is against them. I could just be wrong and RiP could be necessary despite the nonbo. I know how much it blew me out as a Grixis pilot so...

4) Stonecloaker may be too cute. It has great synergy with the rest of the deck but on an empty board it's a liability.

5) This deck is awesome against other midrange decks. It generates so much more value than these decks are used to dealing with. I'm not sure I need to dedicate much to address specific midrange decks beyond cards that have wide applicability.

Also, could Zealous Conscripts or Splinter Twin be used in our decks?

Zealous Conscripts is another infinite Kiki combo that plays well with Humble Defector

I think Twin is better left to the UR decks.

I tried a combo focused version of boros with 4 twin and 4 village bell ringer plus the usual cards (angels, walls, splicers, kiki). I don't know if the more midrange oriented approach with just kiki combo is better, but what i know is that two copies of heliod's pilgrim were all stars in my deck. Being able to fetch splinter twin, chained to the rocks plus random silver bullets from sideboard (wheel of sun and moon, angelic destiny) is very very good.
I was also running moons main deck so chains were a better choice than path.

I toyed with the idea but the deck was clunky. Lots of 3cmc cards, Chains falling off due to increased number of Ghost Quarter in meta, bad against pure combo decks, etc.

Yeah, the issues you describe are real. I just think we have to keep in mind heliod's pilgrim as a card because she's good

Unfortunately I think Kor Firewalker may be a necessity in the board. The Burn matchup would have been very tough without it.

I don't think Rending Volley is necessary. Path is probably enough.

Two Wear / Tear is probably too many. Considering cutting one for Vandalblast. Can't think of many enchantments I want to get rid of besides Splinter Twin, but Path and Spellskite cover those bases well enough I think.

I think Spree is the better card, but Val is running fewer red sources than me so perhaps it's a mana concession.

Critique?

My favourite part of this deck is abusing Humble Defector, so I'm running more defector / ringer.

I think that meta needs less Forked Bolt in favor of extra value creatures. You'll be drawing a lot of cards with that deck but many of them will be too small to close out a game without Kiki.
