So I've been doing extremely well with this for the last two months.

[deck]Seamen[/deck]

The deck has paid for itself 5 times over with tournament wins. Affinity is by far the worst matchup.

You need daze, force of will, wasteland

Wrong forum :D

Actual Question: how good is cosi's trickster

In Modern, the shuffle trigger is extremely relevant. I've played against it and felt terrible when I cracked a fetch. It's probably a better long game creature than Cursecatcher, you sacrifice some tempo for inevitability vs. a lot of decks.

Is the one of spellskite at all better than the third phantasmal image/corralhelm commander?

Usually. All 3 of those I rarely want more than 1 of per game

Indeed! I've never played Legacy, but [mana]1[/mana] is much harder to come by from what I've seen.

Turns out that having a force spike that can beat for 4 every turn is really good.

Just isn't as strong as Cosi in modern, as far as I've experienced so far

What are your thoughts on a 1-of Thassa?

It's probably pretty good. It lets you get your big dumb blue guy through against decks that aren't play Islands and lets you keep the pressure on in board stalls. You can Vial it in if you ever tick up to 3. It's difficult to remove and in the mid to late game makes sure that you're topdecking gas.
Oh and it's a 5/5 most of the time.

I agree. I have a list similar to the OP and I'm willing to test out a 1-of. It couldn't hurt.

Getting back into modern, this deck kicked serious butt when I was playing last year.

If you're thinking of running back the same type of list, you might want to change up your SB. 4 Hurkyl's and 3 Steel Sabotage seem like too much Affinity hate. I'd change some to Spell Snare and/or Dispel. Some Merfolk lists are also experimenting with a small green splash for Collected Company which may or may not be worth it.

Agreed about the sideboard. Affinity was by far this deck's worst match-up but I'm seeing that deck less and less.

I don't want to mess with the colors though.

Here's something a bit more practical/modern:

[deck]Seamen[/deck]

Cosi's Trickster may become Cursecatcher now that Collected is a thing

Merfolk, the silent competitor, is starting to get coverage (sadly). Expect this to blow up soon.

Will create primer soon.
