RtR Draft Strategy

Postby imopen2 » Wed Oct 24, 2012 7:22 am

What guild do you think is the strongest? Any particular card choices you would like to discuss? Post here.

So far I've found Rakdos and Selesnya to be the two strongest guilds. I think both are being slightly overdrafted at the moment, however, and I've therefore been playing a lot of Izzet. I think that the Izzet strategy, especially if you can snag a lot of the efficient red beaters, is rather effective. Golgari is powerful but a tad slow if you don't get the proper early-game walls.

I've drafted RTR once, so please take this with a grain of salt.
I aggressively picked the Selesyna Guildmage (whatever it's called now) and the 3/3 gain 3 guy and then picked up the white token generators that made it around the table.
In almost all the games where I drew the mage, I won if he survived a turn or I had four mana open because more often then not I played the 3 mana 1/2 + a 1/1 bird the turn prior.
if I can stabilize against Rakdos, I won.
