The elf. In my experience, too many people bank on the hands with few land and a mana dork.
And knowing this red mage perspective, I would go with the dorkless Jund approach a la Duke if I were running the deck.

Reverberate is perfectly fine as long as its done safely.

Since I couldn't be bothered to read the whole of that Dega thread, did anyone suggest Reverberating their own Purge the Profane? From the sound of it, I wouldn't have been surprised if anyone did.

A new Trivium album in October, yeah! :jam:

Just FYI, I have "Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis" as my ring signal on my phones.

Platypus, I can't wait to hear what David Draiman did with the Trivium boys. I'm so excited to hear it.

I've seen Trivium three times and honestly, I can't pick a favorite song. When the clan formed, I was on a huge Ember kick, but nowadays, I've been loving everything from In Waves.

Still, I think Ascendancy may be my favorite album. Dat solo on Gunshot...

never did get into that metal, post-core stuff.

but, my favorite music is electronic, so what do i know.

I'm not sure reverberate does enough. What air/kdw really wants is Wild Ricochet. Fuckin game changer right there.

Interesting...why would you want to rely on dorks with so many reasons in the format for people to play Pillar? I would think with Necromancer coming on as yet another prime target for removal that Jund would want less dork reliance. Has M14 made the meta that much faster, or was the lack of dorks just too spotty for hitting critical mana?

I don't think I've listened to Trivium since high school. The Crusade, I think.

That album was one of the reasons I broke out of three-chord guitar playing and started tapping and sweeping and shit. Good stuff, there.

They really progressed as guitarists on that album. I believe part of the reason for their style change with Crusade was because they just needed an outlet for their new madcap skillz

To be fair, this was the "m14" in the dark jund build for an unkown meta. The idea is in
an unkown field, since your already the most powerful/best deck, you just want to do everything slightly faster to hedge against randomness. With jund showing itself as the most played deck by far, I'd imagine arbor elfs getting cut as they're pretty bad in the mirror. The mirror with the new legend rules has gotten a lot more interesting now though as I'm not sure if I still would want to be on the draw.

@Dpaine: I like ash zealot a lot right now because for me, the worst matchups where always aristocrat variants and lingering souls in particular. Zealot is tits against souls. That and I scrubbed out at a 5k flooding out in my first round against UWR, one of my favorite matchups to play. Ash zealot is again, very good in this matchup for her triggered ability and the fact that spear straight up trades with resto when they get greedy.

Gotta love red decks for the opponent rage they generate. Testing a KDW brew on cockatrice vs BUR something, control maybe? First game overran him with curve.
-4 noble -4 cackler +4 volcanic +3 Burning Earth +1 blood???notsure what last slot was

Second game is the god damn grindiest longest game ever. 3 lands 2 burning earth in hand draw LM & Firefist over and over as he far and aways them. after 4 turns finally hit another land and drop earth one followed by earth 2 after he oppurtunties. I can tell hes pissed as his drownyards cant do shit. I force him to take damage by playing duders until he finally hits ratchet bomb and I have him at 2 life and try to dig a kill before bombs go off. I dont and he just keeps playing out land after land. he finally lands olivia followed by aetherling 2 turns later as I see all my outs hitting the GY from drowning. Since all his lands are on the table at this point he finally kills me
and we go to game 3.

-4 volcanic +4 Skullcrack.
Mull no lander into Mountain Burning Earth Mutavault Mountain BTE LM and then draw into BTE. Oh its on! BTE BTE LM knock to 16. Draw rider Vault lose a bte to doom knock to 12. draw & play Mountain burning eats a counterspell knock to 8. draw skull Hellrider & LM sac effect on LM knock to 3. Kills rider on his turn, animate muta opp taps to blade respond with now uncounterable skullcrack--"<opp> concedes the game." "You have been kicked from the game."

Gotta love the power to create the hate.

Crusade was the SHIT!

Anthem is one of my favorite songs ever.
"The Crusade" was the album I jumped on the wagon with. I heard/saw "Anthem" on TV and immediately thought "Hey, this sounds just like old school Metallica!" I think that "Becoming the Dragon" is my favorite song on it, that fast part without lyrics towards the end is just so great!

"Shogun" is their masterpiece in my opinion, it's a really solid record. "Torn Between..." isn't my ring signal because it's my favorite, is just had the best intro for that. "Insurrection" is my favorite on it, that part starting with "Ascend to the heavens..." towards the end...

"In Waves" is great as well, but it's no "Shogun". I haven't really warmed up to the earlier records.

I've only seen them once, after "The Crusade" when they warmed up for Iron Maiden.

@LK - I'm with you; I think Jund will eschew the elf ramp slots in favor of having their Oozes and their removal too. Tragic Slip and Pillar are way too common right now to depend on dorks; Slip also has me shelving FA-based strategies for the moment (Aristocrats will have to ride the bench for a bit). I expect to see countermagic (likely in Flash) creeping back in to deal with the glut of Jund decks. Mountains are definitely a strong consideration, though I hate the thought of playing against Ghost Pants without being able to interact. I know the plan is race, but it's hard to shake the removal mindset...

A couple of quick, noobish questions:
- Is Mutavault's price going to rise? I've only got one and I'm wondering if I should acquire the other copies ASAP or if waiting is the best strategy.
- Does anyone know when is M14 going to rotate on MODO? I'm waiting for that before registering.

I got my playset for like $12 a piece online, I would be shocked if they were under 10 anytime soon. Could go up to 20.

It really depends on this weeks events. If theres Mutavaults in top8, then you can expect price to go up.

Trust me, if you'd ever actually interacted with Melissa at any length, you wouldn't make those kind of jokes. She is literally the most awkward person I've ever met. I have Asperger's and she even made ME feel awkward and uncomfortable. :no2:

Every deck that can run the 'vault will be running the 'vault. It's going to go up, probably around $15-18. Everybody wants them.

What are the chances of seeing more manlands anytime soon?

I should get three more by next week. Hopefully they are still in the $10 range.
