It speaks highly of us as a group that we have so many quality women willing to ride shotgun in our lives.
I'm between ladies at the moment, but some very interesting opportunities have presented themselves in the last week. I will immediately make some bragposts once I seal the various deals.
But until then, day 52!

Ah man...I have no place in this conversation! I need to start looking into getting out into some social situations so that I can get back on the dating train. Waaayyyy out of practice...even when I was living with insanity, there was still a connection. Sheesh...I don't know if I'll know how to behave around someone sane...
Ah well. I just dropped a few pics in over in the gallery thread as well. Another thing this clan seems to have in common...a thing for fiery redheads.

Mine also doesn't think it's her business what I spend my money on - which seems like it'd be common sense, but is actually very rare.
Guns? Games? $200 Steampunk boots? The worst I get is rolled eyes and "whatever makes you happy, sweetie."
I may lament the fact that my girl doesn't want to learn M:tG or play paintball with me, or paint game figures, or dress up and go to conventions - but she's legitimately the best person I've ever known.
And also has the cutest face and sexiest little body I could want.
That's probably good enough.
Sounds a lot like my wife. She's not in to ANY of my hobbies (except football) and she ribs me for playing "that geeky card game" from time to time but she really
doesn't care.
My wife doesn't really have a solid hair color. It's predominantly blonde but with a natural brown/red tint. And naturally curly. I've always had a thing for women with curly hair.

I know the feeling, photo. When my ex and I split up we'd been together for 8 years - and after 8 years your "game" has pretty much completely atrophied.
The only thing you can do is build it back up by putting yourself in just a shit-ton of situations where you interact with available women.
Don't be a pussy - put yourself out there.

I love that picture. Topical and accurate.
My lady and I were together for 4 years but it seems my game is still strong. She was feisty, so she kept me on my toes the whole time. These weak blondes and brunettes just can't match the difficulty of living with a redhead.

Dane our women might be sisters separated at birth
-Mine played Wow too, except she was in the guild that got world firsts in AQ40, Nax, and other things (C'thun or something server she says)
-Got into magic when I got back into it, playtests with me and actually has a nonmeta deck that can wipe the floor with me if she plays better than me
-Instead of her moving in with me, I got to move in with her quit my job and she supported me for a year while I went back to school.
-Helluva cook
-Dyes her hair red (before I met her and re-dyed lately)
-Dat ass >_>b

It sounds like a lot of us have awesome ladies in our lives.
She puts up with all the crap in my life. I wonder sometimes how I got that lucky.
(and she's 10 years younger than me

That's the thing...I need to track down said situations. My life for so long--and even now--revolves around my kids. I hang with a lot of adults, but I've not run into much in the way of single women. Other single dads, but the moms don't stay single if they don't want to and that's just a straight-up reality. The challenge is going to be finding opportunities for interaction with
new people after spending so much time in veritable isolation. Not making excuses, just acknowledging the challenges before me. I'm not scared to get out there, I just have to figure out where "there" is!
For the moment, fun will come where it will. I'll be heading over to hang with windstrider for his birthday in a few weeks and engaging in Nerf wars...fun will reign!

I forgot to post this story from last Friday.
Someone was teasing me about playing red and my retort was that red "was the thinking man's color." They snickered and explained that the best way to introduce someone to Magic is to let them play red because it's so easy. I had to explain that while it probably was easy to learn how to play red, it was much harder to be consistently successful with red. I referred to this as red having a high "skill cap" (anyone that's played WoW here will understand this reference). I went on to say that while control decks might have more decision trees than a red deck, control is often more forgiving due to the individual power of their cards, and even with a more succinct decision tree for red, there is really only one correct answer. If we choose the wrong branch, we could end up getting our opponent to two life only to have him stabilize, losing us the game.
They
didn't really have anything to say after that.

Focusing on your kids is the right choice, and you've done good by them. I think the real trick is not to force anything. Putting yourself into social situations and being yourself is a much better path. Be willing to try new things.
If we had a more welcoming SCA group around here, I'd suggest that. You meet a lot of interesting people there, but the KC group is not so open to new people. It's weird, and it's turned me off from SCA for the time being.
I think you'll fit right in with the group. We're already talking plans for a couple of day trips around MO.

You and my friend Jack will get along just fine. He's the one who took the Steampunk picture and held a photoshoot a few weeks ago.
I'm really hoping we get a good group together for the Nerf War. It's been a while since I've seen some people.
@redthirst — Oh, absolutely.

We've been discussing that as well.

I wonder if I would even want a gamer girl, or a girl to play MTG with me. I mean it sounds cool, but in a way playing MTG is man time. Some guys golf or whatever, some of us have MTG

I like to share hobbies and interests with my girls, but I'd never want a clone. For me, having alone time is very important. If I have no activities that are just mine, I start to get a little stir crazy.

What started as a good day has quickly gone to shit.
The PHP class I've been writing for the past 2 days at work got deleted.
One of the RAM slots on my work machine went bad.
At the end of the day today, essentially 0 progress will have been made while I try to get back to where I was this morning.
*facepalm*
With respect to the MTG girl, one of my exs and I played on a regular basis. It didn't go well. MTG = bro time.

I'm going to have to learn about this pay it forward project.
Also I need to see about getting in on the Ham challenge. Weekends are what usually do me in, especially if I don't get to see the lady friend. I've been having um issues getting off lately when I have sex so maybe it will be good for me to stick to the Ham Challenge.

Well played.
Yeah Control, BECAUSE they have so many decision trees there always multiple lines of play and ways to recover after misplays.
Red is 1 and done. We play on the fine line of life and death and that thrill is what makes red the best color there will ever be

Yeah but, its still man time really. Magic is 1v1 most of the time, so unless you're playing her every match Tournaments and FNMs and different pods... still plenty of time to get your man on while she does her "own" thing.

Also holy fuck, I just took a look at the R/x subforum on MTGS. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK HAS HAPPENED?
If this is what it is like without us, I don't even want to think about how bad the general populace of Magic: The Gathering must be at this game. Reading some of this nonsense made me cringe the hardest of cringes.
I saw "[SCD] Crypt creeper" and was just like "Yep I'm fucking done."

Oh, I've been in some movies. Most of them have been shot in some motel rooms though...
