CVM just wants to jam 4 Battlefiled Forge

[deck]4 Chandra's Phoenix
4 Young Pyromancer

4 Lightning Strike
4 Magma Jet
4 Skullcrack
4 Boros Charm
4 Warleader's Helix
3 Shock
4 Chained to the Rocks
2 Stoke the Flames

3 Mutavault
4 Temple of Triumph
4 Sacred Foundry
4 Battlefield Forge
8 Mountain[/deck]

Anyway to make shrapnel blast playable? Is it possible to activate mutavault(becoming artifact creature) and sac it?

This would not work. Mutavault gains all creature types, which are subtypes, and Artifact is a supertype on creature.

Sure, jamming 4 Forge is bad. To say he's a bad player, that's laughable.

Don't call someone bad until you've put up better results. Like it or not, he has more accolades than you do.

I think his idea of running four Forge is okay. Not running Searing Blood helps mitigate some of the damage from it. I'm not sure how I feel about Stoke the Flames in that deck though.

That's not the test. He misplays a lot. He is not good.

By the same measure, your opinion will be valid when you do anything of relevance.

This is just an illogical method for determine the value if someone's opinion.

By the same measure, all of our opinions hold equal amounts of validity since we are all bad and have done nothing.

Some reflection on your CFB videos would indicate that you are also quite prone to misplays.

I never suggested that his results meant that his opinions mattered (especially as it relates to this deck). My response was only directed at your assertion that he is bad. What is our measuring stick here? Are we comparing him to Kibler, Chapin, etc? Yeah, he's certainly not on their level, but for the community at large he's a decent player and a really strong ambassador of the game. Case in point: he doesn't go around calling
other players bad.

Compared to any measure of high level player he is bad ~ not just the ultra elite. He's a SCG grinder, which is fine and there's no shame in that.

I'm not an ambassador of the game so I can do whatever I like.

There's a chance that as the player who gets paid to play the game, my capacity to evaluate players is better than someone who thinks gr monsters is competitive.

Well, I am going to be making decisions based on what I saw at the TCG 5k as many of those players will be at SCG Worcester. I had a round 1 bye so I was able to scope the room and I swear it was 75% Green decks.

Heres a few thoughts:

Mana felt great- I almost never saw Mana Confluence but the Temple of Silence felt right and 12 white sources was great- I always had white.

I could see replacing Fated Conflagration for the 4th Mortors. Maybe also could see dropping 1 Toil/Trouble and/or Keening Apparaition or Mutavault. Possibly swap those 3 for Phrophetic Flamespeaker.

As much as I like flamespeaker, reckoner probably performs better against green. Caryatid counters flamespeaker in a way we can't answer. Unless you mean the ones that don't run it.

Sweet. It is also heavy on Mono Black.

What adjustments ,if any, have you made to attack your specific meta?

My paper meta has more hexproof so I fit in more disenchant. I actually might go reverse to Z and drop the reprisal for a 3rd.

Me? Well, I haven't played Burn in my meta beyond a couple of FNMs and those were months ago (before JOU), but when I did run it I played a full set of Reckoners in my sideboard along with two Spark Trooper (would not play Spark Trooper now though). Reckoner is a little worse than it was before since it lines up poorly against their now established postboard plan of bringing in a couple of Doom Blades as 1B: Gain two life + Time Walk for Phoenix and they'll definitely be keeping in Abrupt Decay for Chains and Phoenix. That said it does increase threat density and if you can force them to play those spells early and resolve a Reckoner midgame you're golden. As a GR/Jund Monsters player myself (and having played against Burn a bit) I can tell you I never want to see a Reckoner across the table and it's the best thing you can be playing against me.

Of note, I was also running the full four Chained to the Rocks as a
concession to just how lopsided my meta was. I would never do that at an Open though.

So, from the last couple pages, my understanding is that to don't get yourself mixed up in the forums, use a lot of fucking "bad" language, make a pink and green signature and get famous playing magic. Hmm, I have a lot of fucking work to do on that last one...

Actually, the bad language and jokes is my thing. Ya'll fucksticks need to find your own way to stand out.

For example, Z's posts have a lot of knowledge bombs, but have a condescending tone.

LP uses the word 'nigga' a lot. I love that word.

Purp is just really, really, good looking. You can't tell from reading his posts, but he is.

Lightning Dolt has a lot of innocence in his posts. But just because he's asking a lot of questions doesn't mean he's not good. Quite the contrary, he's actually a really strong player.

Both MDU and Lazerburn have some analytical qualities to their posts. Lazerburn is more on the lighthearted side, while MDU throws some hard stats into mix.

Val has a tendency to sound sarcastic, even when he doesn't mean to be, unfortunately. We've had a spat here and there just because the tone of our posts came off the wrong way, but he does know a thing or two about the game.

nKaitscralt....well, you guys will figure out what sets his posts apart from all the others.

I could go on, but I think you guys have the idea.

Even when I make posts that get to Khaos he still loves me because I get his pop culture references.

Re: my sarcastic tone, I'm exactly the same way in real life unfortunately. There are many times where people can't tell if I'm being serious or am straight up trolling them, including my wife. God bless her.

Ok, seriously though, I just have a humongous sense of humor, everything for me is a joke, so I couldn't pass on a chance of making a pink and green signature, with a reason to use it. Much less fame is my thing lol. I'm not famous in Magic, AT ALL, but in Texas, among restaurants I'm am fairly known, due to my career and well, is not pleasant. But can't pass on a good joke man =P

Nice! Thanks for the tip.

I have been running 4 Chains/1 Mortors since the Shouta list came out and have been very pleased with it.

Now that Black is shifting back to Mono Black and not B/g- chains is even better.

You guys are def right about Reckoner over Flamespeaker for green- I just really want to play Flamespeaker but I probably shouldnt try that at an Open.
