It's been ONE FUCKING WEEK!
Didn't take much testing to notice the problems with the format.

Oh, and 100 copies of Hexproof Plant in the top 25 decks of the open in Indy.

Format obviously has room for exploration (if it doesn't then they will ban courser and caryatid and then it will). There just seems to be a few gaping holes in this format.

Namely, 2 cc Doom Blade variant, 4cc sweeper, and a good Mana Leak variant.

Without those things, green midrange / ramp will flourish because the other decks don't have the tools to keep them in check.

You can play all the 3cc+ removal, but then you can't deal with the one random aggro deck in the room who didn't get the memo that the format is hostile. I like that the aggro decks can snipe and I wouldn't be suprised to see them win.

It's just a really slow and weird format without things we're accustomed to. I don't feel after playing it a bit it was good to go in that direction.

This is mostly just a lack of exploration at work. It's similar to the start of the last format when RDW was so much better then everything else before people built mono-black and mono-blue.

This format will feel terrible to some until someone builds a good control deck and brings balance to the force.

I really hate R+D for not putting a doom blade in this standard.

It's good, but has the same flexibility issues as 3cc removal. It is too slow vs aggro.

I hope you're right, but I think it's a tall order without those three effects I mentioned.

We are at our low point for sets in Standard. We will explore and find our options or wait for the next set to fill in the gaps.

Had to chime in here and say that Jeskai Bun is the fuckin real deal.

Went 5-0 at FNM then 5-0-2 at States to split top4.

Well positioned right now and honestly not even sure what bad matchups are besides multiple Seige Rhino.

If you are looking for a deck still and liked Boros Burn at all last season, I HIGHLY recommend it.

Lost round 1 of the daily to Infect, feeling good about life. Dude opened both games with Noble Hierarch into Infect dude + Forest into pump spells all day. Can't even be mad (but I am)

Beat that Jeskai Ascendancy combo deck with the quickness in round 2. Thanks, Eidolon of the Great Revel!

Up against that Gifts reanimator deck, why can't these cunts play something reasonable?

“The Caryatids are really there to set up the most powerful play in Standard,” said Standish. “Turn-one Forest. Turn-two Caryatid. Turn-three Courser, followed by a land drop. Bam. Chicken: It’s what’s for dinner.”
Fuck man, I'm converted.

once when kaze up and left

the second time when zemanjanski would hang out with us in GRRR and generally be a cool dude but then when he got a sliver of mtg internet fame and we razzed him about it he got his feathers ruffled and never visited GRRR again

:(
It wasn't you guys so much as it was work increasing the demand for my time, pip moving in and wanting to travel to play mtg more. Sadly I'm left with little time for the exploits of clock king.

Still have time for madding though

You need a damn good reason not to play courser, caryatid and nissa right now.

Burn is back man. Been owning those green decks so far.

I 7-0-1'd my first event of new standard; we split top 4 and the three other decks we're burn so you may be right. I just find the mana base so unappealing.
