Anyways, I read all the posts in the last couple pages, and I've gotta say that the case against G_R isn't bad. A lot of it is behavioral, and it forces is to trust Az (which none of us want to do), but it may be the best case yet put forth.

I agree that DK seems suspicious, mostly due to his inability to accept a simple vote on him (that's how I acted in my first scum game).

I think red asked me a question but idk what it was. He seems to have reacted pretty well to the pressure and not flailed or threatened to quit (a la DK).

For now I'd be pretty comfortable with a G_R or DK lynch.
I'm OK with a DK lynch after rez brought the Gone Postal sarcasm hand-waive back up.

The Az/GR thing feels like town on town tunneling to me. If Az didn'
t rub me the wrong way, I would likely go along with his case, which is an uncomfortable position for me. I want to believe he's right, but I have a hard time trusting him. Plus I suspect that if GR is really who he says, scum will kill him tonight. I don't want to make it easier on them by lynching a townie PR claim on D1.

unvote; vote Dechs Kaison

Boondocks, where another "experienced" player "easily" decided I was scum:

Also Bioshock Mafia. I actually had a lot of fun flavor-gaming and that probably took people (mostly) off my back. Lots of newbies playing helped a bit also. I guess it's the seasoned mafia warriors I'm having trouble with. :/

I'm not flailing at a single vote on me or threatening to quit. I'm pissed that with all the objective evidence that's out there, the one thing people jump on me for is "claiming scum."

If you ask me straight up: "Are you scum?" I'm going to answer "yes" every time.

Every goddamn time.

Yeah, just b/c someone responded that way in a game in which they were scum, doesn't mean they don't do that as town necessarily too.

I do the exact same thing as Dechs, all the time.

Not a fan of that vote from Ham.

Just read the Boondocks game. You sound really townish there, to me. Opposites, here. Sorry. :/

Why RN?

RN's case is pure lurker wagon.

Dech's case is logic tells and a random thing that's not actually a tell at all.

If anyone has doubts about the GR case after they've read it, now's the time to pipe up. We don't have very much time to come to a consensus, and it's likely to be GR. I'm fine with that, but if someone isn't, now's the time to make your play.

Honestly comfortable with either DK or G_R lynch at the moment, DK's post 129 pings me, mostly I don't like the mindset behind it, questions are good as they get reactions you can use to gauge your opinions on other people, why not ask them?

G_R is flailing pretty hard for the most part, I suspect DK more tbh but I am willing to vote either if it means we can end the day and move on.

on that note vote dechs kaison

You're all morons. Except GR and Az, of course. GR made a fantastic "case" against me that fooled morons. OK, so he's not great or anything, but at least he didn't fall for the scam.

If I count right, I'm at L-1. Good news is that scum's already on my wagon. Bad news is that I already made my claim so it's not like I can do anything about this wagon.

I guess I'm just going to put my final thoughts out there:

GR is flailing and is giddy as shit because he convinced everyone I'm scum.
Rez is either the most stupid town player ever or a halfway decent scum player.
LMD and Ham are idiots for believing the above.
Imopen is just as bad because he's willing to hang me.

That's it.

#yodo

vote Dechs Kaison

There. Now we know scum's already on my wagon and you've only got four names to sift through instead of five.

Hang GR
tomorrow.

Have fun guys.

Lots of buttmad coming from DK. A self-vote is quite scummy, yet you want to do it to prove towniness?

I'm not mad; I'm indignant. I hammered myself and I'm going to hang with a smile on my face. Stardust will show you my PM next time he shows up so I don't give two shits whether you believe me now.

DK: you don't necessarily win by surviving, so next time be a good guy and die gracefully - provided you're town, you've actually mislynched a player you know was town and that's THE anti-town play.

Posted: Sun Sep 14, 2014 5:23 pm
by Dechs Kaison
I was going to be lynched as soon as Imopen logged on. What I did was narrow your suspect pool.

Who hammers a player can give the town valuable information. You have denied that to us.

This, why not try and change peoples minds, at that point, you've nothing to lose (you're lynched if you don't) and everything to gain (you don't die, live till tomorrow and potentially a scum is lynched)

And even in the worst case, you can still try and point people to who you think is scum (I presume you are referring to GR and Rezmo based on your post)

I was already hung. Imopen said he was willing to lynch and we're on a deadline. I've already said everything I could in my defense. You guys are just dumb enough to pounce on a sarcastic response instead of actually playing the game.

Hanging myself is the best thing I could do. Scum was already on my wagon. Now there are fewer names to look through.

Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever self-hammer yourself.

You're right to be mad about the case against you, you're totally wrong to give up.

Dechs' emotions are textbook town frustration. GR's emotions are textbook scum conniving. GR has an actual case against him. DK just has a bunch of behaviors that get newb townies mislynched all the time, and not a scintilla of real evidence linking what he's doing, to a scum objective or scum mindset.

Frustration, anger, emotion, logic mistakes - these things come townies all the time. If that's what you're looking for in a case, you're going to mislynch townies left and right while the scum laugh all the way to the bank.

I don't really know what else I can say here. If after reading posts from both GR and Dechs, and reading both "cases", most of us can't tell how much of a difference there is between these two people's alignment, then our town's
scum compass needs some drastic re-tuning.

Posted: Mon Sep 15, 2014 1:52 am

Do NOT use your guts. Use your heads. Read posts closely. Put yourself in their shoes. Figure out what they're truly, honestly thinking.

If that matches with what you see in the posts, or if they're being sneaky but in a townish way, great, they're probably town.

If there's a disconnect between what someone writes, and how a townie would act, that's when you need to be concerned. And that's not the same thing as expecting perfect play from your town teammates. You take them as you find them.

We're not looking for mistakes. We're looking for lies.

Posted: Mon Sep 15, 2014 2:00 am

Dechs is NOT a liar. What you see is what you get.

Either he's a conniving super-genius who just faked all that self-hammer stuff as post of his evil mastermind plot, but was too silly to avoid drawing all this attention in the first place, OR he's a frustrated, relatively inexperienced town player who's pissed at getting lynched by such a bad wagon. Which do you guys think makes more sense?
