Zem inspired my new avi.
Also, I want to create a fun janky deck for one of the weekly standard events. I'm convinced I want to try a deck with Generator Servent into Master of Cruelties turn 3.

Gonna build this to play at the (admittedly few) events I'll be able to go to for the next few months.
[deck]WW[/deck]
Super sweet card of the list being obviously
Return to the Ranks.
Cavalry Pegasus might end up being
Preeminent Captain though, it seems suspect as it is. Most of my guys are either not human or already fly.

Thoughts on
Modern BR Rats? I think its adorable, but bad (
granted I'm bias because I just crushed the poor deck while I was running burn I fought a jund version)

Least satisfying ends to shows are fake deaths.

It looks good to me, although other versions of Jund/Golgari is still better. Running rats next to Bob is disgusting though.

The quantity on all my Magic cards online has doubled. Is this normal?

Including my tickets.
Wut.

Quick, spend them all.

Thinking about it.

Also sell the excess cards.

by Dechs Kaison
Actually, that might be dangerous. If you sell cards, then they "fix" the quantities, you'll end up missing cards. Sure, you can raise hell and be all "Hey, it said I had this many cards, I sold half that many, then all my cards disappeared! It's not my fault!" but I wouldn't want to fight that battle if I didn't have to.

Seems similar to the "phantom but not actually phantom" cube draft last week. They had to disable trade to save face.

Played junk control in sealed last night; won the final with heliod's pilgrim go fetch stab wound both games. This format is really sweet.

Wotc hires Adam Prosak. Sets become good. Coincidence? People are raving about VMA and he had a direct hand in its design. I wonder if he helped out with m15.

Last m15 draft i played rakdos, but had 2 evolving wilds and ended up splashing both green and blue (1 forest, 1 island) to play jorubay murk lurker and to activate gorilla chieftain ability. I also had a nightfire giant, and i can say those 3 "double colored" creatures were the mvp's of my deck. They really are on par with most rares in term of power level, and i strongly advise splashing for playing those (if you have some decent fixing)

Adam prosak is a dick.
Watching the Strain. Don't know if it's good or not yet, but it's entertaining.

Nightfire Giant is a good card that you would first pick and easily the most powerful card in that cycle.
Black > White > Blue > Red > Green
They are all VERY good though, all at rare power level if you're in those colours.

Basically Visara the dreadful.
The red ones also obscenely powerful, especially if you're opponents limited to damage based removal.

I liked the pilot episode, looking forward to watching #2 on my DVR.

I assume you mean for limited, right?

Obviously. He did say "first pick" in the first sentence.

Could the Green and or White ones have a place in constructed?
Posted: Tue Jul 22, 2014 4:14 am
by zemanjaski
Any of them could have a home in standard if the format looks right in Khans.
Posted: Tue Jul 22, 2014 4:16 am
by zemanjaski
Murk Lurker is no joke in constructed. It's important to remember that Khabs will be much less powerful that RTR, so standard will be quite a bit weaker; though it'll probably be stronger than Theros which wouldn't be hard.
Posted: Tue Jul 22, 2014 4:36 am
by Lightning_Dolt
RTR was weaker than Innistrad... is it possible that we'll contiue to trend downward and khans will be even less powerful than Theros?

What do you mean?? Theros is incredibly powerful! Can you imagine how much play Polukranos would have seen in Zendikar or Innistrad standard?

For those who don't regularly read the DtR thread, I just want too let you know that on the 25th-28th you'll get one FREE m15 sealed event (as long as you signed up before the client switch).
If you want more details just check out the thread.

I'm probably going to pick up MODO now that the beta is out, I know it's apparently "the end of the world," but I have no real frame of reference as to what it was like before, (I only casually played pauper on it) and honestly, with the way my job is shaking down, I don't have time to play paper anymore.

In a game-play PoV V4 (formally known as the beta) is decent, my complaints are:
1) the "window" pop-up spam is annoying
2) the trading and deck building is overly clunky
3) the removal of replays, global chatting and rating system was just dumb
