I've been reading some old articles about how difficult it is too go inf. online - but whenever I read post by our new online members or watch Events I see our guys going 3-1 or 4-0 all the time (granted I don't see every game due too timezone) is going inf. really THAT hard? If it isn't how does it effect the game (though its obv. wizard leeches most of its online money from limited)?

EDIT: I wonder how many people are inf. online is it really a 1 : 4 ratio (that quite large imo)?

Just think, MDU, that for every one person who does go inf, there's three or four who aren't.

You need to take some ownership of asking without thinking.
I did think. My thought process was, good decks in modern often come from mashing together two existing strategies (kiki control and tarmo twin are two that come to me off the top of my head). Your colours support it and your spell count is very high.

Something like this is what I had in mind.

[deck]Creatures (14)
4 Snapcaster Mage
4 Delver of Secrets
4
Young Pyromancer
2 Vendilion Clique

Enchantments (3)
3 Blood Moon

Spells (18)
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Serum Visions
3 Spell Snare
3 Mana Leak
3 Remand
3 Electrolyze
2 Cryptic Command

Lands (23)
1 Desolate Lighthouse
8 Island
4 Misty Rainforest
1 Mountain
4 Scalding Tarn
3 Steam Vents
2 Sulfur Falls[/deck]

Now you can feel free to call that decklist terrible, but I think it's worth at least thinking about possibilities, rather than just immediately discarding them. Either way, The deck list you proposed (to me) is missing something, and that's what I was trying to point out. If you don't like the suggestion of Delver / YP$, what about adding Splinter Twin, Deceiver Exarch, Kiki or Pestermite? You deck basically seems like this deck without the combo: http://www.mtgo-stats.com/archetypes/Modern/RU5
The issues are:

- asking about including cards without explaining
why they compliment the strategy or what they would replace isn't helpful.
- blue moon is an established archetype so you're going to need to expand on what it's missing
- adding cards that are valueless without another piece just makes your deck way more inconsistent; if you want to play twin then play twin properly
- Kiki control is not a very good deck; it's just ok and has already fallen out of favour. it's worse than UWR which is only tier 2. Of course, tiers aren't than meaningful in modern, but the idea that mashing two decks together will make a good deck isn't something that always happens; it's something that's happened once.

The first point is the most annoying; don't be like the bads that post in TCG articles.
In what would is blue moon established?

It had a good showing and then disappeared. Kiki control similarly had a breakout performance but is actually a player putting up ptq top eights cause it's simply a much better deck from a design point.

Id also argue that so-called baseless suggestions aren't so bad so long as you can assume the suggester is a no-idiot. If you get into the habit of rejecting ideas out of habit, you tend to box your thinking in and trap yourself into always trying to be right instead of learning which is generally one of the bigger limiting factors on playr growth.

Like, you consciously decided to play blue moon at a ptq as a player aspiring to get on the pro tour. Rejecting any idea is kind of ridiculous at that point.

In today's daily...

I have Sigiled Starfish and Triton Fortune Hunter.

Opponent casts Anger of the Gods.

I respond by casting Hour of Need (I want target TFH).

Stack says choose first target (don't have mana for strive).

I click on TFH. Repeatedly.

I pay mana and press ok.

Hour of Need does nothing (but was on the stack before AotG), goes to the graveyard, I don't draw a card or get a sphinx token, by creatures are exiled.

I punch the computer and say some swear words then lose the match.

What the fuck did I do wrong?

After watching the recording, I don't think it registered me clicking on TFH.

That's enough to make me pretty frustrated with MODO though.

I watched Madding's video and he definitely clicked on his only creature when casting a strive card and it didn't work.

The only thing I can think of is perhaps there is no visual indicator of targeting with a Strive card, so you both clicked again thinking the first didn't register, which only actually untargeted it.

You guys should set up a casual game to test what's actually happening.

This is the kind of thing that people mean when they say they "misclicked." :D
Pretty sure it is exactly this.

Won R3... hope I can get R4 in before work...

NM, there is no R4. I went 2-1 and got a deckbuilders toolkit + 5 random cards.

by Lightning_Dolt
Should have been 3-0 except that one little mishap. Live and learn I guess.

I haven't played with Strive cards yet, but I assumed it would work like Replicate online, where you target the spell, then have the option to pay more and manage additional targets.

I've had similar issues with Strive in the limited time I've played on the beta. I've had a lot of issues with it actually. It's a terrible piece of software.

And by limited time I mean two hours. That's the sad part.

lets all hope the ORC wasn't lying when he said after the next DT the beta will get a major update......... cause we'll ALL be stuck on beta once the 16th hits us.

I don't think he was. I seem to remember one of the WotC blogs mentioning a major update on 09 July.
