Its a good way to get your name and experiences out there (mtgo players especially) without having to be featured on a paying site

If you think your content is too good for a forum, develop a fan base on DTR and then see if someone like CFB is interested

Of course Maverick can explain it better than me

Maverick has done more for the site than anyone!

I'll certainly link my Saturday streams if Twitch allows embedding.

I also might put my streams up when I start doing them again.

Is there an ETA to launch the new front page? This all sounds very promising.

Firebomb Maverick's PM box and maybe it'll get done within the next foreseeable future. :D

Posted: Thu May 01, 2014 6:13 pm

Okay don't firebomb it, but a friendly nudge might elicit results.

by Dechs Kaison
What about a mass of friendly nudges?

Are those cumulative?

I mean, ten nudges at once might feel like a light jab.

A hundred could feel like a solid right hook.

New event deck just announced today

spoiler: it's bad

No shock or scry is pretty awful. Three Young Pyromancers is sweet though.

I should start a stream where I do nothing but play EDH in "No MLD/Stax/infinite" games with a hyper ramp Omanth deck. Turn four, I Genesis Wave. X is 14.

New event deck is not worth the price. What a turd.

Could be better. The BNG one was pretty good, so I guess this one gets to be a stinker.

Do it.

Yeah, this needs to happen. It could encourage me to stream more often and actually stream more insightful games/topics.

The best I can do now is link to my twitch page in my profile, but getting out in front in a weekly "column" could help stir up traffic in both directions.

Sign up for the front page and test the log in, log out, remember password, etc

This is an important step currently

Login and logout work for me. Nothing else does (obviously).

I can also ask some of my friends who do mtg videos if they want to post on this website. Check put Mtg Lab on facebook or youtube for their videos. And then say if you want me to ask them if they want to post on website.

Will the new site be connected with the old site in anyway?

I wish I was a good enough player to write articles, or slightly worse so I could write casual articles. I suppose play skill isn't the end all be all, I can write a 4 page rant easily enough and often enough if we want quantity over quality. Thanks to a minor in political science I can spin one minor insight into 10 pages in the span of about 4 hours, and thanks to philosophy I can spin absolutely nothing into at least 5 pages. Now if only my ability to lazily use GOTO statements instead of proper loops could be harnessed for good (thank purphoros the professor didn't actually read the source code). I've used purphoros so often that autocorrect guesses it after p-u-r, which is fine for now, but what happens when theros rotates out? Wow this is foggy and rambly, clonazipam is one hell of a drug (I have a Rx, don't worry).

there won't be able to be a 'forum' link at the top like most sites hAve? even with separate registrations I'd imagination we want them linked somehow

Personally I only see MC as a 2 or 3 of in some two to three color aggro deck that doesn't want Guildgates. Depending on the next block and what kind of land it's bringing, either it's going to be unneeded or it will become viable as a 4-of in multi-colored deck.

Either way I picked up three because it doesn't hurt to have around just in case I decide to be greedy with my mana base.

It's a provocative title but I agree with a lot of what he says. I don't think Mana Confluence should be cut entirely, but I've been commenting lately on how many aggro decks have been jamming four Mana Confluence and just how bad that looks in a meta sure to have more aggro decks. I think two is the sweet spot.

There is so much wrong with that R/G deck I wouldn't even know where to start

W/R or R/W Heroic is interesting as an archetype with the new satyr though

Mr. Ross was right about one thing, city of brass didn't see a whole lot play during it's last go around in standard, mostly because standard had painlands, terramorphic expanse, and either shocklands or vivid lands + reflecting pool and tribal lands at the time. Where he's wrong is that aggro decks need it. Temples are all well an good, but etbt is significantly worse than damage in aggro. Also in block constructed it's the only game in town.
