Griselbrand is 33 a pop now?

Shit, son, I have a foiled out playset of those someplace.
They're near $100 foil. Fuck.

I did the same thing. Bought Grizzlebrand at $10 after rotation and sat on them until they hit $30 and sold them for things I could actually use.

Deathrite Shaman will probably be banned in Modern for a long time, but it's still a good buy considering how much play he sees in Legacy.

Pretty much any staple in Modern is a decent spec target right now. Even my Goblin Guides have doubled in price since I bought them a few months ago.

the beta wouldn't work on my machine and even though I finally found someone who could provide good tech support I couldn't get it to work. There isn't really a reason it shouldn't, either. I'm on a laptop that's a few years old, but it was a gaming laptop. I forget its specs. But if I knew it would work on my machine I'd probably buy it.

The pvp is pretty good if you're into RvRvR. I haven't picked it up yet, hoping they sort out some of the bugs.

Skipping ESO for WildStar, the ESO beta failed to impress me. I couldn't quite put my finger on why until I read this:
an NDA in place, so I can't really talk about whether I'm in it, or what I think of it.

Instead, let me tell you about these chocolate chip cookies I tried. I've had chocolate chip cookies before, and I liked them well enough... but I didn't think this particular recipe was any good. They certainly looked like chocolate chip cookies, but they didn't really taste a whole lot like chocolate chip cookies. Something about them was just... off.

I don't know, maybe if I absolutely, head-over-heel loved chocolate chip cookies, I would have liked this recipe better. Maybe I'm just not a big enough fan of chocolate chip cookies to begin for me to overlook the weird taste of this recipe. Overall I guess it just felt like this recipe was trading entirely on the established chocolate chip
cookie name, rather than trying to be delicious all on its own. And so ultimately these cookies bring nothing new to the table, and everything they do, other cookies already do better.

Now, to be fair, this particular recipe is pretty new... perhaps not even quite finished yet. So I did take that into account when tasting the cookies. However, ultimately, when you put certain ingredients together in a certain way, it's pretty clear the kind of cookie you're going to get, and nothing short of major alterations will change the resulting taste. There comes a point when the baker has clearly committed to a certain concoction, and a pinch of salt here or a couple of extra minutes in the oven won't help.

Of course, recipes can evolve and change over enough time, and perhaps eventually the baker will tweak and adjust the ingredients to create something special. And I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that will just gobble these cookies up regardless. I personally just think they're bland, and
not worth the asking price.
I think ultimately I was disappointed with ESO because it doesn't feel like its doing anything besides letting other people into your Skyrim world.

I had WildStar, ESO and Reaper of Souls all installed on my box and WildStar was the one I spent the most time with and was itching to play on the drive home every day. Plus WildStar feels like Ratchet & Clank the MMO and there is nothing I don't like about that.

You say that like it's a negative thing.
I feel like that's what makes ESO so good. I don't play video games anymore really, but all my friends are super into it. It's basically Skyrim PvP, which is all anyone has ever wanted.

1 part ed of cowboy bebop
And a splash of blanche from golden girls for voice?

So Jabberwocky went 6-4 on three hours of sleep playing RW burn, loooool.

I scrubbed out. Turns out I couldn't beat RW burn myself.

Also when we got there, EVERY card in your 75 was 100% sold out at the booths. It was EVERYWHERE.

I think he was playing both in some number. I think he had Pyromancers in the board instead of Viashino Firstblade.

Congrats on the new position, James...life in balance is a good thing. And congrats again on the GP Top 8's for the deck...it is so amazing to hear people around here buzzing about "playing burn" after having seening the "birth" of the current archetype. Well done, good sir...you and your team are indeed to be commended.

Congrats on the Top 8 and the new job, z.

The good
Turns out I was not being paid for a section of a class that I am teaching. I argued with my dean about it and had her pull my contract for this semester. I was right. So, yayy, more money coming my way.

The bad
My family got blindsided this morning when my mother in law unexpectedly left my father in law for his dirtbag cousin. We're not sure what the fallout from this is going to be other than not pretty.
