Very solid list. Swords, Hymn, Ritual, Tangle Wire, Fact or Fiction are very nice inclusions.

Oh you're right, picking [card]Chainer's edict[/card] over psychatog is hilarious.

Kessig wolf Run I guess they didn't want to put too much bombs in the package. I think keeping the secondary market prices of these things away from some outrageous values must be a real concern for wizards given that they are doing limited releases of such a product.

Yeah, that's true, I'm sure they took some epic heat over the black-on-black fiasco so you'd expect they wouldn't want to have another insane price war over this.

I was really hoping for a new Ink-Eyes print. I love that card but the art sucks, and the promo is somehow worse.

The thing that most confuses me about their decision to include Chainer's Edict over Psychatog is that Psychatog is a a multicolored card. Not only would they get a version of Psychatog in print without the ugly old multicolored border, but they'd get to have one multicolored card in the set. They forced KWR into the set in order to have a land in the mix, why not Psychatog so they can have a multicolored card in there as well?

psychatog was one of those player rewards promos with the new cardface though

I do gotta admit, the set is definitely giving me some nostalgia, they did a good job of making a product that is at least a little representative of each year in cards. Honestly it's a little annoying that the whole thing is just a way to push more foil JTMS into the market, as I think it would be a lot of fun to buy this and then have them release a new one each year that you could add to it.

Fyndhorn elves just strikes me as odd, not exactly an iconic card (course Llanowar Elves has been printed in almost everything to be frank), in fact, it seems more like they went "hmm, well, we have swords, hymn, and dark ritual, and the other iconic cards from this time are either on the reserved list, force, or mana drain...so FYNDHORN ELVES".

Have they ever had an edict effect in a FTV yet other than this one, may be why that got put Chainer's Edict in over tog (still probably not what should've been put in, wasn't tog one of the several cards they've admitted to being a mistake)

I hit italicize instead of cardtag. I'm a dumbass

Well, the iconic card would be Necropotence but that's seen more reprints than yo mama. Fyndhorn I think makes a little sense at least, it's a common addition to elf decks in EDH.

But how sweet is the Fyndhorn art?

Yeah the Fyndhorn elves hart is one of the sweetest ones I've seen in years. Helps that its a bucolic art instead of the usual "In your face" garbage we are getting these last years.
