This is my English degree trying desperately to be useful.
Don't worry, eventually your degree will settle into its life, develop a pack-a-day, bottle-a-day habit, experiment with harder drugs, then realize it likes dressing up in women's clothing; then it will be prepared to discuss where to put the apostrophe with authority.
Yes, I just turned a diploma into Herman Melville.

After discussing this, the Senior Staff have decided to just ban masterraids because of unchanging and persistent infraction issues.

Yeah well, the point is there's now a line of reference for banning future users for "being masterraids". Which is a shame, as that's pretty much anyone who likes to ever use swears.
Fuck that shit.

I am starting to wonder if maybe some of the staff has that no-long-term-memory thing from Memento.

Anybody else got the Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow soliloquy stuck in their heads after Capn said that line about getting the blood off their hands?

No. And honestly, after looking it up, I'm glad that I didn't. I was a philistene before it was cool.

That's too bad. The nature of the speech, referencing the ephemeral and inescapable cycles of command, can really help one understand the dangers of ignoring the sins of one's past. When it comes down to it, MacBeth is nothing but a usurper, a terrorist, a scumbag, and it's only after that speech, that point in the story, that he really accepts his own nihilism. It's important, because once you become that jaded, a whole slew of new atrocities suddenly become acceptable options to him; he holds the crown for no other reason than because it is the crown. Like all of Shakespeare's tragedies, it is at its heart a morality play, and MacBeth could
have taken different avenues that would have kept him and his loyalists from slaughter, but instead he invariably takes the worse, most tyrannical path, and the whole of the nation suffers greatly for it.

In other news, why does a GIS for "cleavage" give as its first 4 subcategories the indices for mining, embryonic development, mineral fracturing, and agricultural furrowing?

Weren't we supposed to be living in that future where our internet creepily knows everything about us? You'd expect it to know what I'm looking for with such an obvious term.
Unless.... wait, is Google calling me gay?

This can be comfirmed by searching for vaginas. If the search returns Georgia O'Keeffe paintings, it's got you pegged.

Yeah, it grows on ya. Jim Reardon, a longtime Simpsons writer, created it in art school and according to rumor the work was integral to him getting hired on for the Simpsons.

wait, that was that supposedly impossible Star Trek scenario
Yes, the one that Kirk overcame.
Yet Picard's the one with the maneuver named after him. Because he's a fucking badass.
I'm not going to argue Picard's badassness, but Kirk has multiple maneuvers named after him.
Does he?
I've never watched the original series or the movies.
r_0's supposed to be getting those so I can, though!

The original series really hasn't aged so well. Some of the episodes still stand out for their writing, but most of the social issues they're tackling have been dealt with (or at least brought to better light, probably because of the original series, go go Seinfeld Syndrome) so their message is blunted a bit.

Oh shit. Forgot to turn safe-search back on before GIS'ing Star Trek.
