Thanks for the kind words and advice everybody...
I don't think I'm gonna quit entirely, I do enjoy the game too much, but I think I am gonna take a break from constantly thinking and playing competively... Just relax and play edh or a casual standard deck for a few weeks at least, and then get back into it.

Also, happy birthday DS!

Last post evidently went into the aether...can't find it anywhere.

Happy Birthday, DS! Wishes to you for a day of stress-free enjoyment.

@JS - Thanks so much for sharing...you have definitely found your way through many personal challenges and persevered to make the best of every situation. I would never have had the guts to up and move to another country and culture cold the way you did, much less push through all the local resistance to prove myself. You have heart, good sir, and we are all better for knowing you.

That feeling when you calculate that you'll owe the government over $14000 in taxes for the 2013 tax year.

Alex, there are always some gems in the vault.

Valdarith, I find it difficult to feel bad for a guy because he makes too much money... sorry.

Meh, I don't actually think I make a lot, especially once I factor in the kiddie tax. :D

I see the antagonist for this game is a clown.

Is it going to sprout wings during the final battle? y/y?

Of course it is.

Good. I'd want my money back if it didn't.

By the way, if anyone would be so kind as to replace into the game I'm running downstairs, I'd love and appreciate the fuck out of them. I'm at an 8 or 9 on the desperation scale right now.

Still pretty early but not entirely surprised. I'm overall underwhelmed by the added cards for standard. Just glad Brimaz and Ephara are seeing play.

In other news going to start practicing for GP Phoenix this coming week. Deck I am testing/possibly taking is B/r Devotion. Working off of Patrick Chapin's list but tweaking a bit.

Actually I found the Bant Walkers list to be quite interesting. I was also glad to see G/R doing so well. I jumped on that bandwagon a couple weeks ago and it's nice to know the deck was as good as I thought it was going to be.

The UWR list is neat, yeah. I figured people were going to try and play Catdaddy, I just didn't expect it to be a deck that plays Supreme Verdict.

I have to admit Bant Walkers and UWR are pretty damn cool but not entirely surprised that Brimaz is seeing play in control decks.

Wow! Is that for real? I've seen a guy throw his deck but never a table!

EDIT - 'k Francis is a character, says it all that it's so believable! :)

I really became interested in the B/W control build that won in GP Dallas. I think I'd like to revisit that.
Most of all I want to splash red in it so bad. I feel like Dega is an underused color with a lot of great potential
to make a deck that feels like machine head in a way, but I worry that I can't talk about it without the Kamahl, the fallens of the
world suggesting terrible mana and huge uncastable guys.

Also my head is killing me, I've had the worst year so far. My little brother died of a Staph infection in his heart. It really sat me down for a long while and I started volleying whats important to me. I guess I don't post enough even though I read all these things about your lives and magic theories/deck designs. Come to find out when all the dust settled, I just wanted to play magic, get in fighting shape, and recover financially since I ended up paying for everything related out of pocket. I think I
aged 5 years in January 2014.

In other news. . .
Standard Rant
Born of the gods give me a freaking headache. I'm flustered that they gave Detention Sphere effect in the best deck in the format. I spent all last season screwing around with B/X decks in my back pocket when I wasn't burning people out and kept saying "This deck will be perfect when it gets some drain life effect." holy shit, I've never been MORE unhappy to be wrong.I swear if I can get the mana base right I'm going to make a burn/control deck and name it: Dega. Gunslinger.
Burn out most decks and add some sweepers and terrors from the side to kill G/R big guys. Oh... and slaughter games, as bad as it can be I miss haunting echoes, but most of all, man it really punishes U/W (1 kill condition) It might not be great idea, but I wonder if it doesn't have some traction

Dega. Gunslinger.

Well thats my life right now. I'm on cockatrice under this name also if you
want to do testing (I mean of good ideas and decks not my crappy ones.) feel free to contact me, guys. and... keep the :flame: hot.
