You can disable trade requests for non-buddies in the settings, just in case you're in an event that has higher stakes.

I thought that might be an option. I'll have to do that tonight.

Another shitty grinder whose endless time spent online pads his numbers and hides that he's not good

anyone can qualify for MOCS if they never get off mtgo

Yep :D

I saw the .20 raise on THS which really pleases me, I may start selling THS once it hits 3.3 (about 50 or 100 so I can finally get myself some Blood Moons and cash flow to test Modern).

Yup I will alsp unload some boosters to get cards for std - however I dont feel like playing anything. Dont like most top decks in a format, would like to play green devotion, however I heard it has really bad black and uw matchup..

Maybe bg midrange made by gerry thompson? Rat, demon, ooze, courser, etc...

GAAAHHH!! :argh:

I love how wizards introduced 8-Mans/SE/5-3-2-2 into the format since I'm usually time starved

However ever since I switched too SE only (pretty much) I havn't been able to reach 1900 rating+, in fact right now (after one really horrible day, yeah that is all it took) I've been stuck in this 1800 +/-(20) limbo. I think its due too the quality of the players since outside those random Grinder vs Grinder games your playing against avg player which hardly earns you any points for wins but forces HUGE losses for each loss (3-4 wins in a row can be negated by one loss)..... it makes things worst that they're usually running these decks with random anti burn cards.

Perhaps I should return back into my old DE routine of staying up late

I'm going to start going to bed early (which I should be doing anyway) and try playing at 5 am central us time which is probably evening Australia. Trying to fit these De's in at 8 PM just isn't happening. I really need to build tickets before rotation.

Still, getting up before the sun? Ugh.

Solid pool for the appreciation event. A lot of bombs, unfortunately blue paired with white had no creatures, and white paired with red had bad mana+relied too much on speed for wins. I settled on WG with brimaz and a lot of solid creatures. The main weakness is probably to hyper aggressive decks and removal heavy decks

so...game 1 I took a (probably) bad line and lost after flooding. he is playing WB with an eidolon of countless battles and a fate 3/4 ping me on draw guy. game 2 I am doing much better when I kill his flier and the eidolon. I have lethal and I use my glare of heresy to push it through. he has a trick, w/e, he's dead next turn. he drops a fucking Elspeth. so he has eidolon and Elspeth...I still have 3-4 outs at this point since he is at 1 and needs to chump every turn. long story short, I get about 5-6 draw phases and never see an out. oh well :/

never saw brimaz either

Why you arent playing Reprisal in md? It is one of the best removal spells in block.

Posted: Sun Jun 08, 2014 6:36 pm
by imopen2
It was certainly considered, but I've only ever used it once so I'm probably undervaluing it. What would you have cut for it? I decided to include the wayfinder, obstinacy, and revoke existence over it since I felt it gave me better game against problem permanents (enchantments) and I wanted another creature for launch the fleet plus value with nemesis of mortals and tethmos. I don't think this deck struggles against big slow creatures, but I would definitely side it in against them.

Round 2 opponent didn't show up. Had brimaz in hand too :(

Yeah reprisal over wayfinder for me, even with nemesis

Posted: Sun Jun 08, 2014 7:12 pm
by imopen2
That's probably right and it was what I was debating. Reprisal would have been really bad against my round 1 opponent since he mostly had 2/2s and 3/1s but overall it's probably better

NP cheers for the effort, during that last MOCS attempt (it was MOCS3 this year, it crashed on G3 :P) I also went 1-3 with the pool Kait built for me :ugh:

We still have 4 more attempts too go and the fact that its FREE makes it perfect for practice

Love that format ;)

Its a shame about JOU, I do hope THS reaches 3 tickets before next week Friday :)

Random rant: I recorded 10 videos for this week and next but during the editing process I deleted one :gonk: its quite annoying... I also need too pick up my newer animations since I'm just uploaded all of the older project which arn't that good :/

MDU who have yours affinity on mtgo? I would like to play some amount of matches to test against it - 5 to 10 would be enought.

Jonnymagic, I think he is American since I almost never see him online unless I arrange something in advance.

I certainly hope not ;-)

BTW IO2 you still up for the June 22, 2014 appreciation event?

P.S. Pedros I think you qualified for this one along with Jedi_Knight (its MOCS2).

I'm not so sure since this last one was somewhat traumatizing and it means I would need to skip an ultimate frisbee game...but if you don't find someone else I would start it and keep playing if I was still in top 16 contention. (I would drop after a second loss probably unless it was after the ultimate game already) If that doesn't bother you then yes

I can probably do it

@IO2: Darn, good luck with the ultimate frisbee game

@Pedros: Darn I didn't see your name in the first event, so I think if you spend your QP on Cube sealed it doesn't allow you too get it (just double check the event after DT).

@Kait: Cheers :D, just double check your QPs first I think you qualified two events (you need 35 too get into one) which mean one of these events will be packed with DtR members since when we started that Rupee counting system I think all the grinders hit 35 :p

@IO2: OMG its a great feeling logging too find that have few extra rares with one of them being a grand freaken Brimaz (I had no idea the it was wasn't a phantom Sealed event)!!!!!

+1x Harness by the force, +1x Banishing light and +1x Reprisal (all cards which i needed) if you ask me you had a really good haul.

P.S. All booster prices are dropping @_@

EDIT: I somehow typed "was" instead of "wasn't" :o

Yea the power level was high but the filler cards were lacking. Facing the elspeth+eidolon of countless battles round 1 was rough and then I punted round 3 and drew poorly round 4. Overall it was probably a 5-3 or 6-2 type deck but I was not on my game and variance was not on my side either.
