The core of UB Tempo is strong, but there's just a couple of cards missing to put it over the top.

[cards]Tormented Hero
Rakdos Cackler
Pain Seer
Agent of the Fates
Thoughtseize
Boon of Erebos
Mizzium Skin
Hidden Strings[/cards]

UB Tempo is worth exploring.

Thanks everyone. We were admitted to an L&D room not too long ago and I'm just lounged up on a seat as my wife gets treated. Not much I can really do right now. They'll probably just give her some meds to stop thr contractions and send us on our way.

Wife having contractions at 31 weeks. Going to hospital.
Let's go! Make that babystrider!
Wrong papa, Kaze...strider is on the other end of things as Dude 2.0 has evidently imported a widescreen and a milk fridge and decided to wait out the winter in utero.

Val, prayers and good vibes to you and yours...hoping you're just dealing with Braxton-Hicks and will be back home and settled, but if not hoping things go fast and without complications for mama and baby.

Asahi is a good call, but anyone else prefer Kirin? In that sort of price range I think it's my favourite beer.
That's right, I remember now you saying you prefer Kirin. I like both as far as that beer style goes, but I'm much more into craft brews personally. The import costs make those mass-produced Japanese beers cost as much a good craft brews here, so I opt for the latter. My downstairs fridge is probably 75% loaded with micro and craft brews, with the rest of the space going to other alcohol (white/rose wines mostly) and grocery overflow.

It's okay, Kaze...I couldn't possibly stay cross towards you with Inigo staring back at me...your good taste in movies gives you a lot of latitude. ;-)

These are cards I'd like to see in UB Tempo

1. Aetherize: one-sided wrath in this kind of deck.
2. Far // Away: still powerfull tempo card.
3. Dimir Charm: it catches Cacklers running, disrupts control, fixes your library or occasionaly counters haymaker.
4. Triton Tactics: good lord is that card good against Aggro.
5. Hidden Strings: Pain Seer + this = you are locking something and drawing additional card from Seer. Or untapping land.
6. Inaction Injuction: okay, maybe UB doesn't need this kind of card.
7. Bident of Thassa: ultimate draw engine.
8. Soul Ransom: this card is better than Domestication I believe.
9. Notion Thief: SB tech against UW Control.
10. Duskmantle Seer: not sure how Tempo feels about putting cards in opponent's hand but I think he could be a 4-drop of this deck's dreams.

Currently the deck could suffer from lack of good 1-mana drop. There's no Delver of Secrets in this format. Welp,
Tormented Hero is nice especially with Hidden Strings but I wouldn't expect much from it. And I don't believe deck could be creature-heavy (or Black-heavy) enough to support Cloudfin Raptor.

Jace, Nightveil Specter, Pain Seer are the cards we are looking at tho.

^ agree. It'll possibly end up being more midrangey; though Judge's Familiar might make do as a 1 drop.

by Yarpus
Holy fuck, I forgot about him. Damn you Magiccards not showing hybrid cards. Damn ya.
By Midrange'y, you mean what - curving out up to Aetherling or more of a Devotion approach? Or something completely different.
Not sure if I'd include Thassa but you know, I've didn't touched any cards since RtR release.

One could expect this deck to wreck UW Control really hard.
Midrange I guess turns into removal-fest with a rush to set up your draw engines.
Aggro might be harsh as fuck yo, but some kind of source at Sally gave a sneak that we can expect good Black sweeper incoming. Maybe not the most tempo thing to ever do but not sure if Aetherize is enough, especially if RG gets popular - fuckers can rebuild the field with BTE-Devo chain.

Yeah should have been more clear sorry.

I meant playing 2-4 drop value creatures + removal + draw + counters

Ie: value creatures plus value support cards

Probably ends up looking like Mono U Devotion with some different cards. I don't know if that's a good thing.

It's probably Braxton-Hicks. Better safe than sorry though. She's also been experiencing a lot of back pain the past couple of weeks and it became almost unbearable today so that threw alarms for her.

Haven't seen any contractions on the machine yet which is good.

It is, but you're giving up a lot of consistency to get some arguably unnecessary effects.

Why is everyone so down of forgestoker dragon? Falter-ping is great and a 5/4 is nothing to sneeze at. 6 mana is a bit high, but you can crap him out pretty quick with nykthos and and then use that crazy nykthos mana to burn a hole in their blockers big enough to drive your whole army through.
I just listen to whatever James says even when I think he's wrong, because 'murica.
But he's an aussie.

Yeibesu > Premium Malts > Sapporo > Asahi > Kirin.

Dailymtg articles just dropped. Not really anything interesting at all. There's a red card that I'd call borderline playable, but not really.

I am back on UB Control for GP Melbourne.

Its a "better" Pyroclasm (-2/-2 is better than 2 damage, has scry 1) but does cost 3; but I think that is fine for hosing aggro.

Drown in Sorrow. Wow. Such amaze.

I may join Zem in his quest for world domination with UB.

I was referring to the hint that was dropped--that we were getting a "strictly better" Infest, which it is as Infest+Scry 1 for the same cost at the same speed.

See, drown wasn't actually shown in an article... Tricky bastards...

But yeah, that gives UB control a powerful tool vs small aggro.

Obviously will find a home in MBC as well.

Only because my opponents will be playing it :no2:
