Sanctions then? Passive resistance? Look, you guys are smart, but you're also asshats who obviously love drama just as much as the staff does. Why are you fighting them on their own terms when there's hundreds of other ways to go about it?

Who is fighting them? The people who wanted to appeal have appealed / are appealing. Just because someone from here posts in CI sometimes does not mean we are fighting them, you must not slip into the classic Gutter = Hive mindset that started half the problems we went through

Like I don't even know what fighting you are talking about, so it must mean someone random posted something because they are being an individual asshole

I would agree that the post in question "swing and a miss" would primarily be viewed as spam given the nature of the rules as such for that. If the post had further explanation, then nothing would have likely come from it. The problem with making such a short post and not explaining thoroughly your meaning with such words, is that it does open it up for interpretation. While I would personally primarily view that post as spam due to the lack of additional explanation as to what was meant, I could also see how someone could potentially interpret it as trolling in some form. It can be hard to judge intent with such short posts and thusly, depending on the point of view of the mod, they could have viewed it as both an attempt to troll and as spam, but due to the nature of how they give infractions, they will usually only mention one of the infractable offenses. Sometimes mods do get something wrong. Their interpretation
may be a bit off, and thusly the viewpoint here that perhaps it being labelled as spam would have been the better way to infract it. Mods arent perfect, we are all human afterall. We live, we learn, and we grow though, such is the nature of the world, and such can be the nature of being a mod as well.

But, that's just one example. Is a suspension going to change their behavior? No. While I'm glad I was able to appeal my personal ban, I haven't had so much as a warning since then. But do we need every member who has repeatedly come back after a suspension or even ban to come back so they can continue getting suspended and banned again? Frankly, most of them, I really don't think anyone would miss (including a certain subgroup of users that are slowly but surely all appealing their bans and coming back again; it'll only be so long before the relative peace with their absence is broken once again).

Like, I'm not trying to be antagonistic. I don't fault you for wanting to see changes made to the way MTGS is run, obviously; I'm just wondering why you're fighting the same losing battles. Why not just start an online petition or something?
Petitions only work if the others reconize it. They wont and thus will be pointless. And the amount of negative they basicly thrown turned some users into devils of the site when they actually arent. Hurrah for bullshit.

Yeah, yeah, I know I was going to bed but the liquor store guy is on dinner break for another
20 minutes.
Listen, here's why passive resistance works in the real world: it either provokes change, or it's a hell of a PR stunt. Either way, this site wins. Like even if you
don't want MTGS to change, you should be considering this just for the veneer of civil disobedience that a lot of MtG players can't get enough of.

When I want to point out how dumb they are, I can make a post here containing a quote from there and we can laugh about it. You are the only one looking at the funny shit and thinking we need to get the pitchforks.

I've come to give you guys many names: brilliant, asshats, conniving, even used the word "foxy" once or twice, but this is the first time I've seen you be cowards.

So you want us to go out of our way to trash a shit up and give them more ammo to bash us to shit when we could be doing other things more productively and effectively?
Ya that sounds like a fucking solid plan
