If movies I watched in the late 80's are accurate (and I'm sure they are), the USSR planted all kinds of sleeper agents over here.

I wouldn't trust that this wasn't part of some larger Soviet conspiracy if their grandparents were born US citizens.

Of course... I'm crazy as hell.

Yeah I've watched enough movies and played enough video games and read enough books that the thought crossed my mind as well. At this point though it's starting to sound more like they're just disgruntled punks.

Which really verifies my personal motto.

See a P.A.B., punch a P.A.B.

Sorry for all the spam updates on this guys. This is my city and my neighborhood. I've become incredibly wrapped up in this, and have gotten pretty emotional about it even though nobody I know has been hurt.

No need to apologize, that's totally reasonable.

Because Gift of Orzhova isn't in good colors, this one is.

Well I won't feel shy, then.

Diff topic entirely. Anybody feel like helping a brotha with a sig? I've always been a red mage at heart. I've become a standard junkie and will run lists that are competitive, but if all things are equal then Gruul is my preferred color combination. Maybe something with BTE, Rubblebelt Raiders, Ruric Thar, Domri, and then something inherently red like Thundermaw soaring overhead?

So I'm not sure how much folks here know about the balkans as a region and Chechnya in particular. This family is Chechen. Chechnya is a region in the northern balkans / southern Russia that has been fighting Russia for independence pretty much since the Soviet bloc dismantled. Chechnya and other areas in the region are predominantly muslim, as is this family.

So if anything happens between the US and Russia, this may actually bring the two countries closer together since this family's background is from an area that's been a thorn in Russia's side for 20 or so years.

If the whole Boston thing was happening here in Florida, we'd just blame those "bath salts."

In other news, I have to miss FNM tonight because my alternator decided to take shit and I gotta get it replaced. Fucking Fords....

I have to correct this. Chechnya isn't a part of the Balkans, it's in the eastern part of the North Caucasus.

Yep, sorry. It's been over a decade since I've paid attention to the area in some college
International Relations classes, and the local news is mixing terminology up too.

That'll do, Kaze. That'll do.

How are things coming with the wedding? You haven't mentioned it in a while, which means she's probably planning the whole thing :)
The last time I was involved at all with the procedings was when we went to the bakery to try cake(We choose half chocolate w/raspberry filling, half spice cake.) Yeah, I'm pretty laissez-faire about the whole thing. I didn't even really desire a big wedding or anything. As far as I'm concerned, I'm just showing up to get married. I don't really care about the rest.
So... we gonna finally get that war with the Russians my dad started preparing me for 25 years ago?
Time to brush up on our Red Dawn quotes.

Ahh, that haste goblin looks lovely for limited at the very least. I can see it ran in some faster Standard decks, too. That's just me though.

And I'm rather excited about Arma Cloak showing it's face.

my understanding is the Balkans are north of Greece and south of the Czech Republic, and west of Turkey.

The North Caucuses are east of Turkey, sort of shoved between the Middle East to the South and Russia to the north.

Chechnya is in the latter region. Platypus may be able to correct that.

Well that sucks, but it's also coincidental. My Ford has had a lingering issue with the door ajar switch. As a result of the switch starting to go out, the car can't quite tell if the door is open or closed, so it does some pretty crazy stuff like flickering the notification on and off in the instrument cluster and making the noise it makes when a door is opened while the car is on. It also likes to set the alarm off in the middle of the night because the switch deactivates randomly and the car thinks its being broken into. I've been spraying WD40 in the door jamb for the past six months since I've had no time to do a proper fix. Fortunately it's been working, but a couple of days ago it started to do it again and the WD40 trick didn't work, so I have to replace it now. In the interim I simply pulled the alarm fuse so I could lock my car without worrying about the alarm going off randomly.

Anyway, long story short, this morning it was raining so I had my lights on. I pull into my parking spot at work and turn the car off and open my door, but my radio stays on because the car doesn't know I've opened the door (radio stays on in my '02 Explorer until a door is opened). I close my door and open the rear driver side door to turn the radio off, then close it again. In all this rush, I leave my lights on which I'd normally never do, but the radio was also playing over the reminder chime that tells me to turn off my lights in case I forget. So I come back a few hours later to go get some lunch and I
find my car sitting with a dead battery. Thankfully I got someone to jump it, but it pissed me off because 1) I NEVER forget to turn my lights off, even without the reminder chime and 2) I now have one more reason I need to fix this damn thing as soon as possible.

As for brand names, I have no loyalty to anyone really. I've had a hand in Nissans, Fords, GMs, Hondas, Mitsubishis, Mopars, etc, and you really can't go wrong with any of them. Unless it's a Fiat. Or a VW. Or a BMW. Better be ready to pony up some cash in a BMW for the luxury car tax.

Correction: New Hondas are gay. OG Civics are a work of beauty.

This is what I drive, although it's a work in progress. The engine has been basically completely restored, but I slacked on the body work while living in Orlando because I didn't want it to get stolen and I lived in the hood. (Anybody who has lived in central Florida will know what I mean, I lived on Orange Blossom Trail and Oak Ridge Rd.)
