My buddy got all his Zen lands by picking them up after drafts
He has two boxes of Zen lands.

They came in fatpacks and boosters, the regular ones came in intro packs.I thought the full art lands were only in the fat packs. Did they come in regular boosters?
A judge friend o' mine has all of them hanging in his great room area because his wife likes them...common theme here. I have the Swamp that I won in a fundraiser competition back at the end of SOM/ISD, but don't have the others as I'm actually pressed for wall space (art geek + photographer = image overload). My lady is very impressed with Avon's artwork, so much that she thought that buying the framed Unhinged lithographs would be a nice touch for the office.
Random, but I don't know where else to ask. This is a kind of dumb rules question. [edit] there's a rulings forum. but it has 4 threads. I imagine no one checks it.
If you cast Ordeal of Heliod on a creature your opponent controls, since you control the enchantment, do you still gain the 10 life when it triggers? Same thing if they use a treason effect on your creature with the Ordeal.
Relevant rule:
303.4e An Aura’s controller is separate from the enchanted object’s controller; the two need not be the same. Changing control of the object doesn’t change control of the Aura, and vice versa. Only the Aura’s controller can
activate its abilities. However, if the Aura grants an ability to the enchanted object (with “gains” or “has”), the enchanted object’s controller is the only one who can activate that ability.
I'm not sure if the 'has' clause is the same here (since that's probably referring to "Enchanted creature has X" or something).
EDIT: NVM, the sac isn't a "may."Random, but I don't know where else to ask. This is a kind of dumb rules question. [edit] there's a rulings forum. but it has 4 threads. I imagine no one checks it.

You still gain the life. Ordeal doesn't say that the creature's controller gains 10 life, it says YOU gain 10 life. And as with all cards, 'you' is talking directly to the controller of the card.
So since you control the ordeal, YOU gain the 10 life, no matter what creature it's on
All the time.Does anyone else do that? Use basic lands that fit the theme of the deck.
I think I've gotten them out of boosters before... not sure if that's a real memory or one I invented. It's been a while; I wasn't around for Zendikar block and I only bought like 2 boosters after the fact from my LGS, who was selling them for $7 a piece. After mapping the box, I'm sure...I thought the full art lands were only in the fat packs. Did they come in regular boosters?
I cross that bridge every time I have spending money.I'm contemplating spending $42 on 40 mint condition Zendikar basics. My gut tells me to buy them, my brain is considering how the money would be better spent on new cards that I want instead of cooler versions of cards I already own.
Absolutely! And nothing with a white border either@ windstrider (land and deck theme)
And since my OCD reigns supreme in Magic, all my cards and lands MUST have the same art or else the 'Verse will implode on itself.

Good. I felt weird for doing that as well, and then said screw it. I love running mono-red with nothing but the full-art Zen Mountains. Looks so good in the black card sleeves.@ windstrider (land and deck theme)
Yes. Absolutely. You'd be surprised at some of the lands I favor for certain decks. And since my OCD reigns supreme in Magic, all my cards and lands MUST have the same art or else the 'Verse will implode on itself.
Not gonna lie, certain WB cards appeal to me. I'm a huge fan of the Revised Mountain that has that cold steel, grey look to it. I'm at a disadvantage while on my phone, otherwise I'd post the picture of it.
I love this discussion. Mountain choice is one of the finer points to the art of playing red.Only FoS could spend two pages talking about basic Mountains, though. Which is why we fuckin' rule.
I would always use white Ultra Pros because the color looks so professional. There's something special about a pristine WB card in a white sleeve. I still have them on my Riku EDH and my modern Infect (although I don't play this deck anymore). I'll have to look into the Pearl White KMCs. Good looks and high quality construction? I'll take 20!Also, everything I play is geared up in KMC Pearl White (Walter Whites??? ), so they really make WB look good. Seriously.
A friend of mine recently donated her lands to one of the LGS's and I scooped up 21 copies of that particular mountain.
There's only three of them, I'll guess it eventually.
As an aside, tastes seem to be split along the lines of realistic vs. surreal artwork; Unhinged/Revised/Arabian Nights vs. Zendikar/Kamigawa/Ravnica (and I may be the odd man out for liking the Rise of the Eldrazi lands a lot too).

I play those Mountains in my Modern mono red deck, white border and all.
