The role is 100% survivor. I need to stay alive until the end of the game if I want to win.

Your flavour doesn't make sense for a survivor. What if your girl died before the game ended?
Your actions don't make sense for a survivor. What do you gain by drawing attention to yourself? How do you achieve your wincon after we "pry your claim from your PM"?

Dude, that's all I have to tell you. Maybe the girl doesn't even exist as a player. The flavor is that of the character; he was obsessed with the girl.
What I gain by drawing attention to myself is playing the survivor role and helping the town win. I told you already, I wanted to draw a night kill and I was trying to just be myself where everyone thinks I'm town.
I'm going to drive home now. I've got a three hour drive and I will only be able to check this game very occasionally and through my phone over the weekend. I don't know what else I'll be able to provide, though, even if I did have a computer with me 24/7. I've really given you everything.

Explanaining myself: I'm doubtful of his claim as well, but we can either:
- believe him, and hunt scum, and probably still end up hanging him later;
- don't believe him -> hang him now.
Assuming that he isn't town (it wouldn't make any sense), he can either flip scum or neutral, and in both cases we're left with two mafia players left to hang.
Care to explain me why we should start by hanging him rather than looking somewhere else before that?
Posted: Thu Jan 22, 2015 3:27 pm
by Stardust
Because he's lying. He might be neutral, but he's not a survivor. He's either scum or some kind of killing neutral. If I'm wrong and he is actually a survivor, we lose little by killing him, but I think that chance is low enough that it's not worth the risk of leaving him alive.

WIFOM time: if he was actually some kind of serial killer, why should have him "painted a target on himself" (sic) like that?
Posted: Thu Jan 22, 2015 3:33 pm
by Stardust
Because he's interested in being perceived as town. He wants to play as town bulletproof. As a serial killer (or hitman), that's important. As a survivor, it is not.

I'll think about it, but it seems really risky from his part.

Honestly, I have no idea what he was trying to pull with that anyway. It doesn't make sense for any of the possibilities. Except maybe scum taking a risk (so we'll think he's town because what scum player would out their team like that). It's just weird all over and gives me creepy feels.

Hey rcw. You voted for Dechs after his very first post, presumably for random reasons. Though you've interacted with him a couple of times, you never pointed out anything scummy in his behaviour or in anyone else's, with the exception of
one weak post. What's up with that? Are you happy with your vote?
tl;dr: If Dechs flips non-mafia, I'm coming for you.

hammy (or someone else), who would the ATF agent's girl be? In the show, I mean.
Dechs' description of his role sounds more like a hitman than a survivor.
In the show, Kohn was a guy who arrived to find Tara, the love interest of the main character, Jackson Teller. He was obsessed with her and tried to take down the MC after he found out that Tara was involved with them.

hammy, what are your thoughts on Dechs?

I've never seen him act like this in-game. It seems so sloppy. I recognise him as a skilled mafia player, so this is either an act, or he has no idea how to play a neutral.
He's not being scummy, and I believe his claim after the "there must be 2 scum" comment. A 7/2/1 setup seems ok, but a 6/3/1 seems grossly unbalanced unless town has a bunch of kickass power roles.
A 7/2 split with a vig or SK/Arsonist role seems OK, too. I believe Arsonist more readily, which would make sense if he's claiming either BP or Survivor.

Previously no one was even close to putting pressure on him in the last game. Maybe this is what happens when the pressure is actually being pushed in his direction?
Vote: Dechs
I've only played the one game with him, but I'm kind of getting the feeling this is how he gets when he's crumbling. At the very least, if he is neutral, sk, survivor, whichever it is, what we can for sure count on at this point is he isn't town.

hammy, I searched the wiki a bit today and couldn't find anything on a dog except in one episode. You said there was a dog in season 1. Who did he belong to? Why was he significant?

Two SAMCRO members had a long-standing beef over someone called Missy. In season 3, we find out that Missy was a dog belonging to one of the members.
They drug a guard dog in season one, but it's not a recurring character.

Not gonna lynch kpaca because of it. Just thought it was strange that the only reference to a dog that I could find was in one scene of one episode (the guard dog). Flavour is unreliable, but should make sense at least. This is weird enough that I'll be keeping it in mind as we go, that's all.

It wasn't an RVS vote. And yes I'm happy with it.
It always feels scummy to me when someone comes into the game after page 1 and hops on a wagon while saying "I'll catch up." I understand not posting in the first page and real life preventing you from posting early, but the hop on the wagon while at the same time saying something that tries to take any attention away from you doesn't feel right.
Of course you can't make a full case out of someone's first post and it's just an after-RVS gut vote. But the gut-vote is intended to create some pressure and I'd say that's paid off in spades. His flip from bulletproof to survivor is scummy, Rial says good Mafia theory says lynch the survivor claim and I don't have a counter argument to it, and trying to deflect by saying "if I were scum I'd be better" is one of the most scummy things I can imagine.

The dog's got a point. I'd been reading Jamie as town, but now that I take a look back it doesn't look great. He hammered yesterday without additonal reasoning and most of his contributions were either defensive or random points. The only really townie sounding stuff was when he was attacking kpaca early on.
What are we at? Five to lynch? Sure, let's get a wagon going.
