I went 4-1 at FNM, good for 2nd place. I lost to the same damn G/W deck I lost to at Game Day. Apparently the playgroup just passes the deck around depending on who wants to play it. Its so fucking stupid - 3 maindeck Unflinching Courages. Still, the deck beat all the good players and took first, again. I hear that topdecking an Ajani to launch a Voice with 2 Boon Satyrs on to deal 20 in one fell swoop is GG. Luckiest Game 3 topdeck ever.[/
quote]

I hate Selesbos. Stormbreath and Reckoner shit all over that deck though. You are still only using mono Red dragon right? If so you should join us on the Boros side. I heard Voices liked to be Chained to rocks.
How dare your pollute the purity of monored. That's how you get those filty lazy mud decks! RED POWER!!!
@Darth, Hey now. Big boros is like a pepperoni pizza that's more pepperoni then cheese. Still tap mountains and win.

@Khaos, i'm finding the white splash valuable. G/x creature decks have been popping up locally so having the option of chain has been reassuring (have yet to actually use it.). Boros Charm has pretty much stolen me games. Round 2 - Game 2 of Game Day against UB mill I was stuck on 3 lands, the player taps out and leaves me at 2 and I have double B-Charm and open mana while he sits at 8.

I would try the white splash even though you are comfortable and understand your Khaos Red Dragon build. Sideboard
options available have been able to shore up any matches I shouldn't be winning.

thanks to nbw for the sig.
You do need to try to gay it up a little more.

You're like the least gay member of this clan.

And that's counting the fact that you voluntarily have sex with men.

Mmm... Pizza...

Honestly, if I hadn't have traded away my playset of sacred foundries in order to build my second edh, I'd be running the shit out of Walter White aka HeisenBurn right now.

I actually did try the R/w version of the deck, but all too often my Boros Charms were underwhelming and the Chains helped me get rid of an Obzedat once (but I was losing that game anyway). I took it to last week's FNM and went 3-1 with it before going Mono Red for Game Day.

I think I'm just weird for not being crazy about the Scry lands. I know how powerful they are. I've used them. It's just that when I sit down at a table before a game I like to be very confident in my deck. The less I have to worry about things going wrong the better. That's why I run fewer colorless lands than most people and generally stay Mono Colored with any deck I run in Standard (Modern and Legacy is a different story since I have fetches and duals, but even
then, I'm a sucker for a single color ). I just like to know that I'm going to have my lands give me the colors I need and not lose tempo. I lost a few games, that when I retraced my decision trees back to the beginning, I found that losing tempo on playing my Phoenix or Chandra really cost me. In the end, the Scry lands shake my confidence a little.

What makes winning with Mono Red so fun is getting amazing value from generally underpowered cards. Z makes a compelling statement when he discusses finding the true value of playing Shock when it gives you a token and "draws" you into a couple of Phoenixes. In the games where Chains would be good, I actually have access to tools that can still fix my problem. I would almost prefer to just use a Threaten effect than to stretch my mana base to accommodate a better version of a card I can already use. Mono Red is all about getting value from what you
have - it forces you to really think hard about your choices and tools. Like, I could win a race easily in a new Bugatti or I can not break the bank and just learn how to drive really well in a Mustang. It's really rewarding to "get there" with basic tools.

I always "preach" to people about playing what they know and what they're comfortable with. And I practice what I preach. I tell my staff at work that I'll never ask them to do something I wouldn't do myself. And I do the same here. It's like, "Need a deck idea? Here ya go - this is exactly what I'd play!"

Again, I completely understand the power the Scry Lands and White splash bring to the deck. However, it's just now what I'm comfortable with in Standard.
Image
In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.
I rarely skip a Khaospawn wall of text because I know there is always piss at the end of the rainbow.

Tell him to go get a straw. Blood Moon is a dick card, as represents what your opponents ass looks like after you take the win. It's "pot calling the kettle black" since Bant is dousche deck anyhow with the mentality/song "can't touch this".

Anyway I roll him game one, game two i have to mull to 5 'cause i had two one landers with no one drops, and then game 3 I had to mull two hands without lands and the only land I drew all game was mutavault.

Oh the irony. I'm currently writing a guide for my workplace in terms of dealing with english-speaking clients.
Apparently my english is 'amazing' and 'godlike'.
(actually I feel much more comfortable when speaking)
Har har har har.

Anyone has any other protips when dealing with people who don't speak english well except from "use Keywords" and "always use Present Simple"?

Sorry, RT...it's a reflex. I grew up a mile from College Park and had Terps pennants and stuff all over my room for most of my young life. It didn't hurt that they were running the ACC in basketball my last few years of high school...

Funny you mention smells outside cause either my neighbor is burning their trash or operating a meth lab. Smells nasty outside here to.

That sucks. Could be reverse gas pressure in toilet coming out or maybe your tank contents have surfaced. Not sure if you live in house or apartment.

Nah I know what the issue is, it's the smell of the waste that gets dropped upstream from my little creek, and the air settles in the valley at night. It's surprisingly regular.

I barely have a 'lgs'. The closest one for me is 45min away e.e

And it doesn't regularly I don't think. For tournaments, it always does, but normal clsoe is around 11 I think.

My old lgs used to. It was open from 1pm to 1am. It knew its demographic well.
