I started playing around the time when the game first came out, late 1993. I have very few of my original cards. Those were either lost in various moves or taken by my ex when she moved out. Took a break from it about 8 years ago and got back into it with the Innistrad release. I'm very much a second tier player, mostly in it for the fun, and I've learned a lot since joining the clan.

I want the Magma Jets that I ordered, dang it. I have everything else that I ordered, but those are taking a while.

You'd be base white with a light black splash.

Really, that's how the majority of these two-color decks should be built. Nuwens rakdos deck is really Black agro splashing red for burn and rakdos casting costs. Thus having double whatever in one color won't matter since it's only that color that has the double whatever.
Sorry, I completely misunderstood your point then ^_^

LP, I'd still rather have Red splash over Black. Xathrid Necromancer < Boros Charm. Removal < Burn. BW has no real reach except of Obzedat who's not perfect. I'd stick to Boros on this case, mostly because of Boros Charm.

Ah eminent domain. Why can't we have fun cards any more? Or good deck names

The white creative base is the problem its just worse than red

If you want to build a deck, you can't be lazy. There's always the possibility that X archetype is unplayable, but white has lots of very powerful cards and I'm certain there's a white aggressive deck for someone that wants to play it and I can see it being a tier one deck.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

,
Jin-Gitaxias was one of the most entertaining cards in the history if humankind. Period.
Had this game against Tempered Steel. I managed to lock my opponent down with Gitaxias and 4 Consecrated Sphinxes. I was drawing 18 cards per turn and discarding Emrakul to get my GY back into library.
Or had a game against guy who played JtMS against me and did Brainstorm with my 2 Consecrated Sphinxes on the board. Draw step (4 cards), Brainstorm (12 cards). It's funny that people don't even know how their cards do work.

I think this iteration of white deck after some improvement could be really good.

[deck]Creatures (26)
4 Banisher Priest
4 Daring Skyjek
4 Dryad Militant
3 Imposing Sovereign
4 Judge's Familiar
3 Precinct Captain
4 Soldier of the Pantheon

Lands (23)
11 Plains
4 Mutavault
4 Sacred Foundry
n4 Temple of Triumph

Spells (11)
4 Boros Charm
4 Brave the Elements
3 Spear Of Heliod

Sideboard
4 Boros Reckoner
1 Precinct Captain
1 Pacifism
3 Electrickery
1 Gideon, Champion of Justice
3 Glare of Heresy[/deck]

I'd probably drop single Spear and at least consider Magma Jet in here. And would never fucking touch Gideon The Piece of Shit.
Frontline Medic could actually be usefull with all the Revelations floating around.

Decklist is not mine. I'd never touch Gideon. I have fetish for undervalued PWs, not underperforming ones. :P
I think what this guy basically wanted to have was non-creature threat to not get swiped. I'd rather use Heliod then...

I've given a non-zero amount of thought to monetizing my stream. Even if I only got $250/month, that's still a weeks rent. Would need to get a lot more exposure than I currently have (I have 101 followers, wheeee).

Wouldn't happen for a while, but is be looking at about $3/month per subscriber.

I would love to see a match against G/R Midrange. A turn 3-4 Polukranos, Crusher, and Stormbreath Dragon along with Domri and their own Chandra sounds like a nightmare to deal with and race against.

I think we nailed the final form of Kuroda Boros. It should have much stronger control matchup now.

[deck]Creatures:
4 Ember Swallower
4 Stormbreath Dragon

Planeswalkers:
2 Elspeth, Sun's Champion
2 Chandra, Pyromaster

Other Spells:
4 Chained to the Rocks
4 Lightning Strike
4 Magma Jet
4 Boros Charm
4 Warleader's Helix
2 Mizzium Mortars

Lands:
4 Temple of Triumph
4 Sacred Foundry
4 Boros Guildgate
14 Mountain

Sideboard:
4 Anger of the Gods
4 Assemble the Legion
2 Burning Earth
2 Mizzium Mortars
2 Renounce the Guilds
1 Wear // Tear[/deck]

Consider testing and tuning it when creating your States gauntlet. Not as your potential enemy, more as the kind of deck to run against the meta.
You're oppresive in Aggro matchup, especially post board.
You're burning out most of control decks actually.
Midrange... well, hope midrange dies to Mortars mostly.

Most nutdraws are.

It's a flawed archetype though; they need to hit the exact right mix of land, ramp and creatures or their deck does nothing. That's a relatively big ask. This isn't Wolf Run with green sun's zenith and inkmoth nexus as a back up win-con; the creatures you're ramping into aren't even good against the meta; soending all that time and resources to lose everything to doom blade is just not viable; tiran's gave you terrific value, regardless.

So yeah, it's a bad matchup, but it's also not a real deck. If I were
going to states, I'd have act of treason and peak eruption in my deck; which would go a long way.
I should do a showdown with that guy who challenged me on mtgs. That's most of a months rent right there.

LP, your mono Red list you posted looks similar to something I brewed up a few pages back. I really like the 2/2 split on Chandra and Mogis.

How has your testing with it been treating you? I haven't had much of an opportunity at all this week to test, so any insight you can give me would help out a lot.

Just talking about the staff lounge which is full of truly gifted debaters and respected psychiatrists.

Surprisingly little blatant hypocrisy, though.

It's been testing very well, but I think I may play Nuwen and Fates black based Rakdos deck.

But as far as the Mono red list goes, since I added reckoners to the main, I cut the peak eruptions from the board for burning earth since your game 1 vs. control is worse and I want to just own esper all day.

But reckoner has been very good. Now instead of having to always 2-for-1 yourself against opposing reckoners, you can just play your own
and he's very good against all the creature decks.

But Rakdos life is happening. I just need to find a way to put hammer in the board and the deck will be perfect.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.
