It's yours, brother...I will get it out to you when I have time to pack it up right.

The only thing worse than losing your first round at FNM to double mulligan to 4 from horrendous mana screw is dropped your six pack of Heineken on the sidewalk.

On the plus, I now own a beautiful foiled Hammer.
That never happens in my 16 land deck or with my PBR.

Fucking FNM scrub am I right guys?

Opened some packs. Pulled some notable mythics but the best was Tymaret and a foil one in the same pack. Also got 2 foiled DroppinSugas, aka Satyrs.

Jerry, you are a gentleman and a scholar. Unlike my father, who was a drinker and fiend.

You are also an indestructible God among Humans.

For those who have been playing with paper, how are those scry Temples doing? I have plans about putting at least 8 of them in a monored burn deck to manipulate some topdeck, but it seems like asking for a Burning Earth.

[deck]
3 Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch
4 Rakdos Cackler
4 Rakdos Shred-Freak
4 Tormented Hero
4 Spike Jester
4 Mogis's Marauder
4 Thrill-Kill Assassin

4 Lightning Strike
3 Magma Jet

2 Dreadbore
2 Madcap Skills

4 Blood Crypt
2 Rakdos Guildgate
9 Swamp
7 Mountain

SB: 2 Dreadbore
SB: 2 Chandra, Pyromaster
SB: 3 Doom Blade
SB: 1 Whip of Erebos
SB: 4 Chandra's Phoenix
SB: 1 Rakdos's Return
SB: 2 Mizzium Mortars
[/deck]

Deck was everything it was supposed to be: fast, consistent, and full of cards that are very well-positioned against staples of the format. Dreadbore is very good right now, and we are immune to mainboard doom blade. Madcap skills is a lethal game 1 card that can be substituted for better tech in subsequent games.

Played against G/W hexproof, dega midrange, Fate's G/R ragehammer, boros aggro.
So high, so low, so many things to know.

I didn't lose any games at last night's FNM using RDW. It's a deck too. Playing in a small tournament for a box today. Check the RDW thread if interested.

Mogis marauder is a serious magic card.

We were laughing our ass off because Nuwen spent like $2.50 (tormented heros and marauder) to finish her deck and just stomprolled the foil thoughtseize, 8 scry landing, Elspething clownies

Control is actually terrible right now.

6-0 FNM champ motherfuckers!

Five red decks in the top 8, I was the only one on Zealot + Young Pyro.

What is the reasoning behind Shred-Freak over Chainwalker? Haste and devotion? Figured Chainwalker would play better with Exava, who seems like a big player here.

yeah Haste and devotion for maruader. We actually decided to run thrill-kill over GHC (shredfreak was always in) because it let you play defense against huge fatties which had always been a weakness of dosrakis in the past and it also swung into anything that GHC could. also doesnt die to magma jet/shocks which was nice.

Elvish mystic is the only card that "feels bad" when you play shred freak into, and with all the chained to the rock and w/e going on I figured haste as a keyword just needed to be shoved in peoples faces. Spike jester+Shredreak on 4 mana was a pretty frequent play.

Exava's sexy body and keywords are HUGE players yeah. Jace looks pretty shitty against Spike jester and her. Her second ability is just random upside (haste out thrill-kills into supposed stalled board states? yes pls) and I think its a trap to build around it (aka throw in splatter thugs and bloodfrays cause why not).

Chainwalker
seems more solid in RDW where you just need to swing into that plant and kill it and also be able to swing into fleecemane lion or tusker or w/e. In Dos Rakis you just keep hasting and dreadborin and doomblade because you dont give a shit what they play

imo, the creaturebase of this deck already provides 1-1 devotion parity for Mogis's Marauders trigger. That's not the big reason he good. Also, if you do swap chain-walker for shred freak there are no other permanents that have two black devotion, and thus no way to give extra Marauder triggers to Chainwalker.
So high, so low, so many things to know.

I can testify that the Trooper beer is very excellent. Sure, it's a licensed product, but if it was the only beer available for the rest of my life, I'd be very happy.

I managed to go 1-2 at my local FNM with my GW Auras decks being manaflooded all night, only to discover I was erroneously playing a 26 lander, 64 cards deck.
Fun times :D

I won a late night draft, though, so I just cannot be too angry with myself ^_^

I think this is a good standard. Scrying is awesome, as is the lack of resto+tusk to slow things down too much combined with tapped lands to slow things down a little to make the speed just right. I resolved Elspeth at least once in every match last night and rode her to victory and nobody went to time, which shows that the format's speed is just perfect.
