Won R1 2-1 Vs RDW in the second 8 man of the day. G1 he runs me over. G2 Blind Obedience wins me the game. G3 he stall on 2 land and folds when Sparky puts him to 6 with me still on 20 with Blind Obedience in play

Blind Obedience just isn't beatable in the mirror.

Also Kait, I would be SUPER appreciative if we could do some more testing plus discussion. Maybe with Skype? I expect the GPT to be FLOODED with UWx and would love to prepare for them.

Need to 2-0 the last two rounds to hit 35 QPs.
Otherwise it will have to wait until tomorrow because I don't feel like double queuing tonight. A man's got to know his limits.

Round 3 my opponent Lifebane Zombies me seeing three Searing Blood. I Blood the Zombie and he proceeds to play Gray Merchant into four open red mana. How is this man 2-0?

He was just being generous.
Here, I'll pay 5 mana and discard this card so you can deal 6 to my face

Why do my opps never do this?
R2 of my 2nd 8 man. UW Devo - NVS, MOW, Tidebinder, Last Breath, counters, Jace, Rev, splashing B for BBV. Unsurprisingly I die horribly

I actually can't financially afford to be this bad, it would be cheaper to just buy an LED.

Play the removal that was in his hand instead.

Unless the four cards in hand were all Blood Baron I suppose.

Sometimes they don't have a choice, but I refuse to give him the benefit of the doubt given what I saw in game 1.

you don't know what was in his hand, grey merchant eating 2 bloods into blood baron seems like a fine line in an already desperate game

I am playing out of my skin this week. If only I were this in the zone and practiced for the GP.
Or, you know, I had the benefit of nearly 150 more matches with which to practice and refine my deck. That probably helps too.

Yea, I don't know the board state etc. just seems like it would be worse than doing nothing a lot of the time.

This is my opinion too, tapping out against Burn is so bad because you're basically telling me "I hope you don't have it". I am quite proficient at getting maximum value from cards, so I usually do.

but what else can a deck that is only creatures and removal do? wait to draw a duress or devour flesh? maybe. sometimes you just go for it.

Well, the other option is UR Faeries and that deck sucks.

I might play Mono U Tron actually, that appeals to me a lot.

Not walk right into the cards you know he has unless you are sure you need to get them out of his hand to progress?

Well yea, I can think of a ton of cards he could have had or could have drawn that would have been better. Night veil takes both searin bloods to kill, a discard spell clears the way, the blood baron takes the hit and allows you to get the 2 life from Gary the next turn almost for sure, demon says fuck your searing bloods, devour flesh in hand would make waiting a lot more profitable as well. But, I don't know life totals, board state, hands etc. so it's all speculation and it sounds like he was in rough shape anyways

I assumed he lured them out with a grey merchant so blood baron could come down safely
Searing Blood is never dead in the match. Having the opponent use 2 on a Merchant that gained you some life isn't the worst deal.
It's basically an unwinnable match, he knows this and Zem knows this

Well he doesn't gain the 2 from gray merchant since there are no black pipe when the trigger resolves. Also, idk his life total but I assumed he was going to be in burn out range before the baron had a chance to swing. I'm going to stop caring now
