your damn right I don't.

Its just I don't like the 4th land all that much. Once I play my fanatic, I just want to sac the beautiful red things to make 3/3 golems with haste.

Whats this "have 5 lands in play" nonsense, do games actually go that long?

Kuroda red? Well you don't want to be losing your lands in that deck either, because overloading mortars and mostrous ember swallower doesnt pay for its damn self

Some decks like RDW just don't mind loosing their lands.
Blitz red/Aggro (what I assume you mean by RDW, because that is the only red deck running around that could even think about losing lands in a two-for-one) doesn't have enough CA to afford playing a finisher that two-for-ones you, especially when you're already playing a card to utilize excess land.

You can have a finisher with protection from white, flying, and an ability that turns it into a 7/7 + Lightning Strikes, or a finisher that makes you sac a land when it dies and can be chumped for days.

And both come down on the same turn...

We don'
t really need more admins to help, we just need the permissions to be able to add/delete/hide subforums. As it is there's three of us (two of us basically since Madding is basically a showmod) modding Standard and it isn't too busy that we can't handle it. We just don't have the power to change mess with subforums.

Maybe sideboard vs. GW; it could conceivably dominate the board there.

I'm seriously considering buying a playset of FTV Dragons Shivan Dragons so that I can play Kuroda Boros without having to pay for Stormbreath Dragons while still having a bit of pimp to show for states. Yup, you read that right. I am considering bringing a Shivan Dragon deck to States. I think I need redthirst to dickslap some sense into me.

I think it would actually be nice for Photo to be a standard mod (if he's up for it, that is). Photo, what you did with everything in the clan thread was great (even if it does make me have to look harder to find every new post so I can read it and be able to make use of the little red circle next to the clan forums). If you could do the reverse and take what you find in the restricted areas and put it into the "The Realms" section when it seems like the discussion is pretty good and shouldn't be limited
to FoS members, I'm sure the whole site would be very, very appreciative. I'm not pressuring you to take up any responsibilities, but if you'd actually enjoy doing it, many of us would be grateful for it.

Starting to think that Big Red might be the way to go as far as Mono-Red goes. Feels a bit stronger and red sligh will likely be public enemy #1

the cards that hate on sligh seem to hate on big red just as well it feels like, since you play less threats.

I don't see big red having an easier time against trostani and advent of the wurm anymore than sligh... in fact I'd still put my money on legion loyalist and firefist striker ;D

c'mon DPaine, follow your heart and play Rakdos Control. No more Falkenrath Aristocrat for you to ogle, but it should be a good deck. Just make sure whichever R/x deck you go with, pickup your playsets of Chandra before Theros hits and M14 stops getting drafted.

If we're seriously considering Shivan, I'd suggest taking another look at Hellkite Tyrant

Compared to Shivan:
Same CMC as Shivan
Comes pre-firebreathed for 1 (6/5 instead of 5/5)
Has Trample (HUGE bonus)
Will steal all the Gods' weapons mwahaha
Unfortunately it's not a mana sink like anything with firebreathing - though at 6CMC it's effectively already done that

The obvious downside to both is that neither has haste. Stormbreath Dragon[/c:
342pyebq] is in Mortars range, sure, but he costs 1 less, has haste, and is pro a very relevant color. And you'll use the Monstrosity a non-0 number of times, which is a nice bonus. So the real question is, how prevalent will Mortars be?

I think the answer is "very". It overloads as a sweeper for any Hexproof shenanigans and hits a lot of very relevant things. It's one of the few cards that effectively deals with [c]Blood Baron of Vizkopa
, which a lot of people are speculating will see play now.

If it's an "employment at will" state, then, yes, they pretty much can do that. :flame:

Edit: Got the term wrong.

More info here:
"Employment at will is the basic rule of the relationship between employer and employee in North Carolina. Under it, any employer, private or governmental, is free to decide among all job applicants which one to hire and to reject all others, for any reason that suits the employer. Similarly, the employer is free to decide at any time to dismiss any employee already working for the employer, for any reason or for no reason at all (except for a handful of reasons made unlawful under federal law, such as race, sex, or age discrimination). The employer is free to demote, suspend, or transfer the employee and to raise or lower his or her pay."

I would be upset if not for the fact that I was already considering leaving anyway. I'd been actively applying for different jobs during my entire time there. Despite being a natural-born liar, which made me an excellent salesman, I really hate working retail/sales because I feel like such a whore. This was no different, I was working for a pressure washing company doing sales. It sucked.

It was an "extra income" job, I live here for free and am really just working to add money to the hoard. Now that I don't have to pay for my mother's in-home nurse, I've really had no
need for a job. I got one as a way to get out of the house and do something that wasn't League of Legends and MTGS/D2R. Been saving for a couple of years now to open a LGS, just want to have a rather gratuitous amount of money when I do that. (Currently sitting at $9,400/$45,000 towards my goal.)

Also I would much prefer to be a teacher. I have a teaching license that I've yet to use, and my student teaching experience was very fulfilling, even if it was a little unorthodox. I taught at a school for troubled teens (CEP Orlando for anyone who knows that area at all) and despite having to deal with some kids who may or may not have shot and killed people, it was a pretty good experience for me. I got duped into the position because (apparently) my nature lended itself to working well with these types of kids.

Or maybe they were just telling me that because nobody else was willing to do it.

Freedom, you're right on target. The whole point of the restructuring was for FoS to have a "curtain" as it were for ahead-of-the-curve brewing, particularly at times like these when the meta is going to be changing drastically. By breaking things out and organizing them within the brewery, it will be easy for us to move threads out to the open forums once a deck "goes live" and proves itself worthy of continued development. This gives us the opportunity to get the most out of our brewing efforts before our lists start showing up around the Web and getting netdecked all over MODO.

That was my exact fucking point. Fuck lizards, get dragons. Stormbreath resembles me evasive Hellrider more than Heavy Artillery. And yes, I'd also consider Shivan Dragon over Hellkite Tyrant - we'll see how relevant is
a) Trample (no Shivan)
b) 7 power (no Tyrant)
It's cool that magic got back to this idea that Good creature can be just vanilla, fat ass creature without broken ETB effects. Just look at the format. There are nearly NONE ETBs on big creatures.
