My girl decided to adopt a puppy the day before MOCS season 4 started, so my grinding time suddenly became halved.

The puppy is very cute, but it's hard to concentrate on the game with her playing in the room and threatening to shit on the floor at any second.

:ape:
You talking about the puppy or your GF? :scared:

Well I'll be hardcore gunning to be in the PTQ next week but I worked 15 hours of overtime this week and my GF is here this weekend and I've got the RL PTQ on Saturday so I'll just have to make it up next week.

I'll probably switch decks next week to something better than hexproof but I felt like I was committed to playing it this weekend and needed the practice.

21 QPs.

Two opponents in a row wouldn't split, so I have to take the 2 QPs from their incinerated corpses. Both were playing Esper - you'd think they would be smarter.
How do you convince people to split and give you the QP? Offer packs?
I say "want to split? I will give you 1 pack of Theros". They usually say yes. The 0.5 tix I lose on the trade is easily worth the QP; afterall, the first 15 QPs is worth 100 tix anyway.

Being fair, Ham does play in one of the more unforgiving formats primarily dominated by grinders.

Yeah, shit's rough. I figure I'm going to be playing Modern in the prelims, better grind with my Modern deck. It's a trial by fire that I can't get playing in the tourney practice room. Winning 15 rupees with a Standard deck and immediately scrubbing out of the MOCS seems loose (and likely).

I think I could do decently with Z's Standard burn list, so I keep it around in case the Modern queues aren't firing.

I def. know how you feel since I use to play heaps of modern, if your short on time I'll recommend standard even though it doesn't feel as rewarding when you make the proper sequence.

18 qps after 4-0 ing daily tonight.

Noticed cant play white prison as i forgot to buy runed halo pre - pro tour. Now they cost 5 each, so I think I can get better deck for similar amount of cash.

Is scapeshift any good? Both Prime-Shift and Command Shift.

Plus is this deck better or worse than titan-shift?

Hmmmm - I personally love scapeshift but I think Twins and Pod does it better for combo.

In regard to the list you posted, I'll argue its better against the traditional hate which scapeshift can receive except its a tad slower and has no counters....

@Ham: I gave Lazerburn the Battleskull so once you get online grab it from him

Well, based just off the Pro Tour, scapeshift and Tron both seem unplayable.

If I felt liked shelling out some dough, I'd play either Jund or Obliterock. Affinity is also a deck I love, but I know I'd misclick and go on life tilt.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

It just doesn't win major events (heck tron was nickname GPfailed for a month on MTGOGOLDFISH).

I'll recommend Twins or Robots since they're cheap - I would personally play Jund if could stop myself from buying senseless crappy standard cards and save up for that.

Kait I thought it was the "pro" rule never to play 3 colors during limited? Unless you get really good color fixers or something (is two enough)?

You can definitely play 3 colour with 2 good fixers (eg: two evolving wilds), but double splashing is pretty much always a no-no.
