Pretty interesting 4 Hangar and 1 Tragic Arrogance mainboard. I saw Patrick Dickmann did that at GP london as well- the 1 Tragic main.

Neither deck with Rabble

(POST ROTATION) JESKAI BURN

Postby dauntless268 » Sun Aug 30, 2015 12:19 am

Playing Jeskai online for a few days now and it seems strong. I've tried with and without Rabble and not sure yet. Hushwing Gryff could be an interesting alternative, I think.

I like Sarkhan as a mirror tech for the SB.

Most intrigued by the fact that all the core cards are KTK or later, so the deck should be viable for some time (assume we get any halfway decent dual lands in Battle for Zendikar)

Florida grinder Shawn Ellis made a Jeskai deck that I'm in love with. He made Top4 at the 5K I won over the weekend.

2 rdw
1 jeskai midrange
1 esper drags

I shouldn't have posted that earlier. It was some deep unfortunate variance many times in a row and the conclusion was the deck doesn't win. But lots of games were 1 good draw from winning to draw 2 lands. havent even faced a green deck yet.
I played the vs jeskai incorrectly. I don't have dig and he does.

Jace just seems so good in a deck like that. Wonder if Jace should be main deck to dig for burn and flash it back while you have Satyr Firedancer in the sideboard for creature heavy matchups.

Wonder also if Dig through Time is better than O Command since you are putting spells in the graveyard each turn making easy delves and digging into burn to finish game seems great when you have to burn creatures early.

While I'm personally not a fan of the deck, I actually think the decision to play Ojutai's Command over Dig is defensible. The deck runs a bunch of burn spells that deal four damage which reduces the necessity of Dig (all your spells do roughly the same thing) and buying back Firedancer is big game. Jace slows down your clock but interacts favorably with the spells in the deck, especially Ojutai's command, so I'd definitely want to try some in that deck.

Good point, the less versitile your cards and less 1-of's the worse Dig is.

I guess Jace slows down your clock but being able to flashback burn for the win and also pitch lands to find burn since this deck doesnt want a lot of lands like the more typical Jeskai deck seems good.

Basically I think Firedancer is a very hit or miss card and so is Searing Blood(which I wouldnt cut, maybe to 3).

Jace is more consistent overall so I think its a better game 1 card and could easily be boarded for Firedancer when you play creature matchups.

Just dont think Firedancer is great vs Control(which is low) or Abzan control(very popular). I'd rather sideboard it in knowing it will be awesome.

Not sure if this goes here, or if it belongs in it's own thread. Been testing a little bit, and it's done very well vs GW Aggro and Abzan Control. Currently 2-2 vs some aristocrats brew.

[deck]
Creatures 18
3 Dragonlord Ojutai
4 Mantis Rider
4 Soulfire Grand Master
4 Thunderbreak Regent
3 Jace, Vryn's Prodigy

Lands (26)
4 Bloodstained Mire
4 Polluted Delta
4 Flooded Strand
1 Island
2 Mountain
1 Plains
2 Battlefield Forge
4 Mystic Monastery
1 Prairie Stream
2 Smoldering Marsh
1 Sunken Hollow

Spells 16
4 Crackling Doom
3 Dig Through Time
4 Draconic Roar
1 Murderous Cut
1 Wild Slash
1 Secure the Wastes
2 Ojutai's Command
[/deck]

Obviously needs tweaking. Mana base could use a little work. The Mystic Monastery's feel like total ass, and so do the Battlefield Forges. OJ's Command seems alright sometimes, and just terrible others, so I'm not sure about it. Other than that, I like it.

Looks hot Jsilv. I especially like the Dragonmaster Outcasts being paired with Ojutai's Command. Was talking with my buddies about that, but I hadn't tested it yet.
