Didn't realize how cheap Grand Masters were. Just picked up 3 today for $35

Yeah, it was the list Not a Robot posted. fffreakslittlebro recently played a newer list though.

[deck]Creatures
3 Butcher of the Horde
4 Goblin Rabblemaster
4 Seeker of the Way
3 Soulfire Grand Master
Spells
4 Hordeling Outburst
2 Thoughtseize
4 Crackling Doom
4 Stoke the Flames
4 Wild Slash
4 Outpost Siege
Lands
4 Battlefield Forge
4 Bloodstained Mire
3 Caves of Koilos
3 Mountain
4 Nomad Outpost
1 Swamp
4 Temple of Triumph
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
Sideboard
2 Thoughtseize
3 Anger of the Gods
1 Glare of Heresy
2 Mastery of the Unseen
2 Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker
2 Valorous Stance
3 Wingmate Roc[/deck]

I hate Wingmate Roc for obvious reasons, but like moving toward TS to shore up Control and it's fine vs. GR.
@Jsilv - I havnt been on this site as much as I'd like in past 6 months, are you the Jsilv that does content for CHannel Fireball? If so your thoughts on the RW splashes would be awesome.
I am. I think the Mardu splash is worthwhile (at least online) because it helps the GR match out without adding another dead card vs. Control. I think straight RW was better when people hadn't adjusted to quad Outpost Siege and decks going under. Basically it adds a card that RW doesn't have access too and people can't really play around.

Let's put it another way, none of the Standard decks are really good, so as long as you play a reasonable looking base you'll be fine.

I really like how that list has only 8 tapped lands considering Ben Starks list had 7, its basically a free splash. Although this list kicks Chained to the curb, which kinda sucks. IIRC your list had both Chains and Doom.

I've noticed the Jeskai decks are running 11 tapped lands which seems like a big leap, especially with a bunch of 2 drops, you will get double tapped land hands a lot.

I am more worried about a control-heavy meta as I am in the NorthEast, not a lot as far as devotion is concerned. Do you have any thoughts on Jeskai compared to Mardu?

Mardu seems like a good hedge vs green devo while Jeskais draw spells n counters seem good vs control.

Jeskai seems

With three rocs in the sideboard, what do you bring them in for? Green based decks?

This is how my list is shaping up:

[deck]
Creature 17
3 Seeker of the Way
3 Soulfire Grand Master
1 Heliod's Pilgrim
4 Goblin Rabblemaster
4 Hordeling Outburst
2 Ashcloud Phoenix

Spells 19
1 Chandra, Pyromaster
3 Outpost Siege
4 Chained to the Rocks
3 Wild Slash
1 Magma Jet
3 Lightning Strike
4 Stoke the Flames

Land 24
4 Plains
10 Mountain
4 Battlefield Forge
1 Mana Confluence
4 Temple of Triumph
1 Evolving Wilds

Sideboard
3 Stormbreath Dragon
2 Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker
2 Valorous Stance
2 Erase
2 Mastery of the Unseen
2 Arc Lightning
2 *** Slots Open
[/deck]

Anybody have suggestions for my two sideboard slots? Who wants to rip into the 60?

I would expect a lot of RW so I would load my sideboard to fill out Wild Slash and run 1-2 Magma Spray. I also think it's a mistake to run less than four Outpost Siege, and in the same light, more than 0 Ashcloud Phoenix is too many. Finally, I wouldn't run less than four Seekers.

Chandra is essentially Outpost #4 and sometimes better than Outpost. Sometimes.

If I wanted to go that deep I'd run four Outpost and one Chandra.

Ari Lax posted a video series of RW on the premium side today. One of the rounds was against Abzan control and he resolved all four Outpost Siege! In his situation Chandra would have been much worse. Check it out. The entire match was very entertaining.

Try to move a third Mastery in the board. It's insane vs control and basically serves to overload targets for Sultai Charm against Sultai control much the same way we used to board in more walkers to overload Hero's Downfall against mono black last season.

I like your list a lot khaos. maindeck I would just go 4 seekers 2 grand masters although i am tempted to play 3/3 too as i said. Also i think pilgrim could be valorous stance (so you also free up a sideboard slot) or just the 4th wild slash , but i know you love pilgrim so probably you should just play her. I think phoenixes are really good right now and i approve 2 maindeck.
In sideboard maybe 1 of the 2 empty slots could be a banishing light ... i just like having one catch all card.

Okay, I'm at that point where my "fuck it" sense kicks in. I'm done over analyzing minutia and attempting to break the meta. I'm at that crucial point where I'm just going to play what I know and have fun with what I got.

I'm gong to be proactive. I want to play some Dragons. I'm going to go with what I know; it's honestly the best approach. I have no expectations for this event and I just want to be able to do the best I can with what I have, which is what I've always done.

Win or lose, I'm going to play what I enjoy and do what I know how to do best. #scrumper4lyfe

Here's what I'm most likely going to be registering by tomorrow night (and I say this now because it may change to some degree after some Friday Night Events):

[deck=Khaos' Big Fucking Pile of Cards He Owns]
Creature 18
4 Seeker of the Way
1 Soulfire Grand Master
1 Heliod's Pilgrim
4 Goblin Rabblemaster
4 Hordeling Outburst
1 Ashcloud Phoenix
3 Stormbreath Dragon

Spells 18
1 Chandra, Pyromaster
3 Outpost Siege
4 Chained to the Rocks
2 Wild Slash
1 Magma Jet
3 Lightning Strike
4 Stoke the Flames

Land 24
3 Plains
11 Mountain
4 Battlefield Forge
1 Mana Confluence
4 Temple of Triumph
1 Evolving Wilds

Sideboard
1 Glare of Heresy
2 Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker
2 Ashcloud Phoenix
2 Valorous Stance
2 Erase
2 Mastery of the Unseen
2 Arc Lightning
2 Wild Slash
[/deck]

Eh, khaos'll play whatever he wants and either do fwell, or scrub out and win some boxes. I think we both know that and have a comfortable understanding of each other.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

That's the perfect way of thinking if you don't want to tilt ;-)

Also looks like a perfect deck apart from the Mana Confluence and the Magma Jet but well, it is only personnal preference based on my limited own experience. If you're feeling fine with it, go and win some boxes !

FWIW, I thought the first list you posted on this page was great. I would've preferred 4 seeker, 1 ashcloud main with 1 ashcloud and the third erase in the board, but if you want dragons, fuck it.

My locals isn't the best meta:

-Abzan Control
-Counterburn
-RW Heroic deck with a player that must be new...he used that one mana white spell that adds protection from a color, then tried to target it with Temur Battlerage.
-RW Aggro

Came up against a strange Temur deck giving me problems. It can either go into turn two Savage Knuckleblade or Rabblemaster with Shaman of the Great Hunt and Stormbreath. Then there's Frost Walker with Heir to the Wilds. I'm having a hard time meeting all of these threats. Suggestions? The guy is using Stubborn Denial and Disdainful Stroke.

Another question to get the juices flowing. I recently saw a list that didn't have Hordeling Outburst. The player piloted it to a 4-1 record in an MTGO Standard Champs. I realize I'm only citing one occurrence, but it begs the question. Is Outburst a MUST HAVE in our 75?

I only bring it in vs UB and sultai control. Its not as good vs sultai, but it overloads their charms so our outposts can survive later on.

After playing 4 matches against sultai in 2 daily events today, leading me to 0-2 drop both events, I'm feeling like its time to move on from RW. I just cant seem to win this matchup anymore, they have too many answers to all the cards we play. What do you all think?

Yeah I run the stormbreath dragons and have 3 mastery 4 outposts postboard, but it still feels miserable. They bring in so many bile blights and drowns that easily take care of all of our 2-3 drops, save charms for the enchantments, and downfalls for the big stuff. It just seems unwinnable against a competent player who draws equally as well as you
