Actually I take that back. It's much better than I thought.

Shock for R is bad.

5 dmg for RRR is good enough for standard, I think (cf. Brimstone Volley).

1 for scry 2 is probably OK. This actually helps the mono u matchup because lava axe your face.

I don't know, maybe a strictly one-of in the sideboard for straight up red with no splash?

Oh. Unplayable.
Glad we're in accord. Just answered like 10 people on facebook asking my how good it was. The answer? Not at all playable.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

Having actually seen narwhal in the wild, I thought they were ok(ish). Polar beats still kill them. Hams picture should a tactical patch from milspec monkey.

I just noticed that I can build Melira pod. Why does no one run Kara, great glass spinner to protect the combo? White is not the greatest beside the angel and spike feeder plus side board of paths, kataki, and others. Just a thought. The pontiff is good as well. Hmmm. Have to think more about it.

That new burn spell sucks. At least lightning axe made you discard a card to get madness online. It was a fun combo. That spell should be able to hit players as it would have hit plainswalkers anyway. Not playable in my opinion as well. Red got the shaft again. Maybe the minnator god will be a red bad ass. Anyone see that on the mothership. It was just a art shot.

What don't Polar Bears kill? They're pretty much the apex land predator aren't they?

@ Wraith: BUG Pod? Interesting. White is very strong:
- Qasali Pridemage (important card to be able to maindeck for a few matchups)
- Kitchen Finks (much easier on the mana)
- Reveillark and Ranger of Eos (important for the Plan B Beatdown)

Beyond that, the white sideboard cards that Pod plays aren't that exciting; I just don't think blue cards do as much as the white ones. Would be interested to see what you can come up with.

How could I forget about finks! Woodfall primis nuking all the lands would be game ending as well. I was looking through my binder and saw my Kara's next to Melira and had that epiphany. Will have to give it more thought. Loosing pridemage, the sliver, and voice is bad though. Damn. I can't think of any good replacements in blue for those creatures as creatures. It was a thought to tax June or burn.

It's you, it's you, it's all for you
Everything I do
I tell you all the time
Heaven is a place on earth with you
Tell me all the things you wanna do
I heard that you like the bad girls
Honey, is that true?
It's better than I ever even knew
They say that the world was built for two
Only worth living if somebody is loving you
Baby, now you do

Also, the new red card might be semi acceptable as a one of in the board, if especially if Obzedat becomes more popular. The original Big Boros deck ran 1x [card]Chandra's Outrage[/card] in the board, new card is better than that.

Finally sleeved up a version of Walter White and smashed to 4-0, 2-0 in every match. I ended up loving Tajic more than I could have imagined. Dude is totally great.

Also played a singleton Aurelia's Fury in my deck, which (literally) won me the game in one round. Was sweet, 9/10 would do again.

What was the play? I have it as a 1-of in my Modern Dega Pyro deck, kicks ass at EOT tapping down blockers for alpha strikes.
